Fishing Oregon's Umpqua River for Chinook Salmon Part 2

welcome back everyone if you're just joining us today we're here with were here with host mark tobin and guide gary louis on the umpqua river in beautiful southern oregon fishing portion for chinook salmon just outside the city of rose burg with blue skies gorgeous green mountain site in crystal clear water let's join makr and gary as they traveled through some of the most breathtaking scenery deficient some of the premier waters of the beaver state gary how do you want me to fish this area here they way we fish this here right in this real fast water here the fish kinda like to congregate hang up right in here before they go up to this these falls you just want to cast up right into the middle of that just bring a right on down through here just thumb it out and just let it go right on down through there did you see that osprey fly over any day now they will take off and leave for the winter and they say they go down the Argentina from here fish on gary fhey gary for folks who would come down here and go king salmon fishing chinook salmon whats the best time of the year to do it september october man i cant move him keep him off these edges can you feel the power mark well this is my first trip down here to Oregon and i got to tell ya gary oh baby and i'm so impressed with the couple of things number one the beauty of the state hang on hang on oh man tough fish ive gained nothing i have gained nothing there he goes now you've made him mad mark now youv've made him mad but this state is so beautiful very surprised about that and number two this must be a very well kept secret just we see hardly anybody out fishing this river pretty much this is going to be a good sized salmon try to get him to go around to the other side cause theres a ledge that sticks out right there hes just going right where he wants to there are very few fish that fight as hard as king salmon do i cant budge him cannot budge him gary it just dont get any better than this a fish that fights back this hard and you just look up around you and all of this scenery just spectacular beautiful absolutely beautiful i dont just like it i love it if you have never caught a king salmon you got to do this was an absolute look at him go i cannot believe how long this thing has fought me look at that there he is look at that fish that is awesome brutal fish i mean they are brutal welcome to the umpqua riverr no dont go away man oh man i definatly see why the fish have the stamina to swim in these incredibly strong water falls what swimmers here he comes all right alright oh my gosh what a fish i tell ya that's all you ever want in a fish right there look at that fish yes sir i can barely hold this fish man im shaking like a leaf wore me out what a beauty hey folks im going to take a picture of this so you can see this on our website don't go away we'll be right back
