The night of Qadr is supreme to all the events in the world. I can't stress it enough and
when Allah(swt) is asking us in the Qu'ran: "Wa Ma Adraka ma laylutal Al-Qadr?" What will
make you understand what is Laylutal Qadr? When the Qu'ran whenever questions us, meaning
Allah(swt) is telling me it's very important, otherwise Allah(swt) doesn't ask me. Whenever
Allah(swt) asks a question before He answers it, it means it's very important. I wanted
to take full benefit for tonight's laylutal Qadr, that to me all these discussions we
have, intellectual discussions are good. But there comes a point, and I've seen some people
by the way, they are too rigid in their logic and rational, too rigid. And I say watch out!
Being rational, logical, systematic is good. But don't just hang there, don't just say:
"That's it, God loves me!" No, Allah(swt) wants you to leap, leap forward, leap with
Ibada (worship). Put your face on the ground, cry, beg him, ask him, ask him to make you
fly in the spiritual world. Allah(swt) does not prevent us from that. Tell Him to give
you more, the intellectual part is a springboard, you cannot jump to Allah(swt) without this
springboard. No one can jump on quick sand. All of the philosophers in the world, to me,
is all quick sand. They all got faith, but how can you jump when it's quick sand. When
you have a real springboard, firm, and it throws you towards the sky, towards Allah(swt)
where our iman (faith) just takes us there. Let's take it tonight. In this state of the
realm of spirituality, the realm of crying, the realm of reflection, the realm of experiential
faith, not intellectual only. What we call Haqqul Yaqeen (Reality of Certainty), let's
try to get into Haqqul Yaqeen(Reality of Certainty). When you ask for something, be careful what
you ask for. Make sure it is good for you, otherwise you will wish you never got it.
Allah(swt) mentions it in the Qur'an beautifully, He says: "Asa An takrahou shay'an wa houway
khayron lakom, wa 'asa an tahibou shay'an, wa houwa sharon lakom." That which you don't
like, and it happens to you, it's good for you. And that which you love, and you don't
get it, it could be harmful to you, so Allah(swt) keeps it away. Let's be grateful whatever.
Whatever Allah(swt) gives us. "La in shakartom, la azidanakom." If you are grateful to Allah(swt),
Allah(swt) will give you more. Let's be grateful for whatever we have. Assess tonight, all
the gifts of Allah(swt), nsha'Allah and Allah(swt) will give us this great status, in this world
and in the hereafter. When we go into any prayer, introspect. Forget about everybody
else for the moment. So when we make du'a, say O' Allah(swt), I want to do charity, I
want to do something for you. But how am I going to do it, if I don't have the ability?
So introspect, question our own integrity, and go into sujood (prostration) and say:
"Zhalamtu nafsi." I have done injustice to myself. O'Allah, I am not worthy of this prayer
to You, but You are so open, Your treasure is so open, that when You say: "Wa iza sa'alak
ibadi 'ani fa ini qareeb," and you say " ad'ouni 'astajeeb lakom." Well, I come to You. I know
I disobey You all the time, I make false promises with You all the time, I have spoken against
You, I have felt that You are not worthy sometimes, I have even doubted You, I have considered
myself better than You sometimes. Shame on me! How dare I did that. O'Allah infuse that
spirit in my heart tonight. That when I go into sujood, make it vibrate for You. Make
me feel good, make me feel confident, make me want to come to You, make it that You give
me these abilities that You answer my prayer.
