Hi. I’m Chris Portier, and I’m the director of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, or A-T-S-D-R.
You may have heard that we are conducting a health survey of Marines and civilians.
I’m asking for your help in making sure that everyone who gets a survey fills it out and sends it back to us.
This survey is being mailed to 300,000 people who lived and worked at Camp Lejeune and Camp Pendleton between 1972 and 1985.
You may receive the survey this summer or in the fall. The survey is voluntary and it only takes about 45 minutes to fill it out.
We hope you will send it in by December, and tell others who receive the survey to complete and return it to us also.
This survey is going to help us learn about ways to improve the health of Marines and their families.
The Marines, their families and the civilians who have served our country deserve our best efforts to answer their health questions.
When you return this survey, you will help us to improve the health of those who have served us loyally. Thank you.
