Automatically translated by machine. Hello we're currently on holidays in Brisbane.
We got back a few days ago from The Sunshine Coast and now we're staying at James' parent's
place. Trip? That means time for packing tips!
I get a lot of questions about how I fit all of my clothes and junk in because I try to
pack fairly light. So I thought I would just make a video and
Get the best suitcase you can afford. Hard case with 4 wheels is my favorite.
Two wheels is not enough, two wheels is never enough!
The four wheel ones are so good because you can pretty much push them around with a finger.
And I'm not very strong so I need a suitcase that wheels itself.
So for this trip I'm taking my new pink Cherry Blossom suitcase.
It's from Hideo Wakamatsu and they were nice enough to send it to me.
My suitcase is a bit different to most other suitcases because it has a lot of other extra
features. For example it has a little coat hanger that
comes with it. It also has these dividers which unzip and
then the second one on this side which clips down over here.
So when you open the suitcase everything is completely flat and nothing will have moved
around which I really like. Travel Tip #2
Use space bags or smaller bags to separate everything.
By space bags, I mean these vacuum sealed bags, I'm sure they have other names in different
countries. Even if you don't plan on vacuuming them up
they are really useful for dividing things and then if you have to open your suitcase
in the airport or at your destination nothing will have moved around inside.
So you won't get an avalanche of junk falling on you. k
Tip #3. Bring a scarf.
Especially scarves you can crush up and they basically stay the same.
This one goes will pretty much everything, it's light enough that it's good for summer
but when it's bunched up it will keep you warm in the airport.
I hate being cold on planes Tip #4
Pick good crushable fabrics. I like to take things made of chiffon because
they are floaty and breezy for a holiday but also easily crushable and they never crease.
You could roll this skirt up and throw it off a cliff and it would still look like this.
You know, unless it got snagged on some branches or something or a condor stole it and flew
away and ate it because it thought it was a fish.
I don't know what condors eat... Anyway!
Chiffon is really good so I always pack lots of chiffon.
Travel Tip #5 Be smart about your clothes, mix and match.
Layering is good too. This flannel shirt, which goes with this long
black skirt, also this skirt, and also these shorts.
This shirt goes will all of those things too. And this jacket goes over the top of everything
to dress it up. I'm not even going to be bothered counting
how many outfits that it. You know, maths isn't my thing. Well it is.
But maths isn't my thing this early in the morning without a cup of tea first.
I also take dresses because you can rewear them easily if you have other items to layer
them with. For example, you could wear this dress one
day. Then the next time you wear it you could wear
this jacket. Or add the jacket if you want to dress it
up for dinner. Wear again with a cardigan and scarf.
And one more time with the big leopard print cardigan? I think it's a cardigan.
It's really drapey, it's like half way between a scarf and a cardigan.
Anyway, there are a bunch of different ways you can wear one dress, assuming you actually
want to wash things while you're on holidays. I hate washing things on holidays.
I figure, I'm on holidays, that's not my job anymore!
So I just try to bring enough clothes to last the whole trip. Lazy!
Tip #6. Be adventurous but not with your clothes!
Holidays aren't the time to experiment with outfits, holidays are the times you take outfits
you KNOW you look awesome in! You don't want to be wasting time when you're
going out to dinner or you want to go to the beach worrying if you look good or not.
Travel tip #7 Pack hard things like shoes under squishy
clothes. Shoes aren't something that I want rolling
around with my clothes because they're a bit dirty.
I wore these on the beach, strawberry picking and many other places where wedges were an
inappropriate choice. But that's not the point.
What I do is before I suck the air out of the space bag, I put shoes along the sides.
That way, when the air is sucked out everything will mould around the shoes.
That way they're not taking any extra room. Travel Tip #8
Pack flat hard things like notebooks in the middle or in the dividers.
Also good for flat things like notebooks and sketch pads.
The more flat things you put in the middle, the easier it will be to close the suitcase
in the end. I like to use them to hold art supplies.
Normal people use these to hold more clothes but I don't know why but I always take watercolours
with me everywhere then I never use them. But I know the one time I don't have them
I'll really need them! I did this one inspired by one of the looks
that Celina from Fables in Fashion did when we were up at the coast.
I say inspired because she really should have been wearing more pink.
So I drew it in for her, you're welcome Celina! Travel Tip #9
Use coat hangers to keep belts, stockings and scarves together.
What I like to use the garment side of this for is belts and stockings.
I hang them through the coat hanger because it's nice to be able to just take them all
out at once when you get to the other end of your destination.
Then you can clip that part up too. Tip #10
Stop stressing about packing and have fun! So without doing James' things that's about
it. The only thing I don't have in here that I
need is my beauty supplies. And they go in a separate bag because there
is so much of it! I'll show you that in the next video, so look
forward to the "what's in my beauty travel case" video coming soon.
Bergamot says goodbye too! "Oh no, don't lock me in here!"
So I hope you guys enjoyed the travel video. It's been fun shooting somewhere a little
bit different. Thank you so much for watching and thank you
to Hideo Wakamatsu for the beautiful case. So if you guys like this, you can actually
win a beauty case on my blog. Just check out the link in the description.
Make sure you check it out, the beauty case is super cute.
I'll see you guys at home!
