Hi, Dow Jones here at the Firehouse car wash and detail. Today we're detailing the engine
compartment of your vehicle like a professional. I think it's important to point out before
we get started on the actual cleaning, and applying things to the engine, we talk about
the location where we're going to do this. It's important that as we wash grease, debris,
grime, oil, from the engine block, that we're in a place where it doesn't rinse into a storm
drain, onto your sidewalk, your driveway. The places that I typically recommend, is
you go to a place like a car wash bay, where they actually have a grease trap and separator,
so it has the ability to pull that stuff out before it washes away into the sewer system.
Another place you might want to do it is, you can do it on your lawn if you don't have
access to that, so at least it falls in and goes into the soil there and it helps. But
ideally again you're going to be in a location with a grease trap and separator. We don't
want this off running into the sewer system, or any place where it can cause environmental
damage. And that's going to be your tip number 1 on how to detail your engine.
