Hi, now we're going to explain the different types of dry wall. Alright, there is green
board dry wall which is more water retardant dry wall. It's now required that in kitchens
and bathrooms if you have plumbings on the wall that you have to use green board simply
because it is more water resistant than the normal white dry wall. It is also a little
bit more expensive. It cost about twice as much as white dry wall. So, the other type
of dry wall is white dry wall and that is used for basically all other applications.
Right now, they don't allow you to use green board on the ceilings. You can only use white
board on ceilings. So, it is you know basically for any walls without plumbing and ceilings,
you go ahead and use the white board and any wall with any kind of water or plumbing in
it, you use the green board for water resistance. Alright, a lot of people are wondering what's
the difference between the two types of dry wall. Basically, the green board dry wall
uses a more water resistant material when they build it and you can see it when you
cut it open and look at the inside of it compared to the actual insides of the white dry wall
that there's more it's denser. It's a lot denser and it has a lot more fibrous material
in it that repels water. Whereas white dry wall is pretty much actually what it is explained
to be. It's more porous and it just more sheetrock. So, that concludes are explanation of the
different types of dry wall.
