As a non-invasive cardiologist, my background is in cardiac imaging. So, I have certifications
in echocardiography. Echocardiography is ultrasound of the heart. And, basically what it looks
at is the heart function — both during the squeezing function as well as the relaxing
function and the valvular function of the heart. I also have a background in cardiac
CT [computed tomography]. So, I use those imaging modalities to really assess comprehensively
the cardiac status of a patient.
I try to remain flexible with a patient and keep up the dialog with that patient so that
they understand that I’m there for them and that we can work together to try to treat
their symptoms.
