DETALJER SMK UK
Exploring [details] with art educator Annette Rosenvold Hvidt.
At first glance I see a girl standing, -
- placed in a harmonious way, in a doorway.
She's waiting for her boyfriend. It's a very peaceful -
- and romantic painting.
When I move closer to the painting, more details catch my eye.
Like the knitting pin that the girl puts in her mouth.
And then I look a bit further up and I see a black spider.
The minute I see the spider, it becomes a detail -
- that disturbs my impression of this painting.
What seemed to me to be serene and harmonious, -
- has now taken a turn towards something darker and scarier.
"Could this girl be in danger?" I think.
I think Dalsgaard, who painted this picture, -
- placed the spider in such a central position on purpose.
And even though it's quite small, it attracts your attention -
- when you notice it. And then it sort of merges with the girl -
- and her situation.
It's entirely possible to experience it without noticing the spider, -
- but a lot of people like to play detective -
- when looking at paintings and drawings.
Then you'll be happy or feel disturbed when discovering these details.
