both my parents were doctors so it was a pretty natural choices. I don't think I was ever
interested in anything other than
being a physician. My sort of unique specialty
is really blood clotting both because theres too much clotting causing thrombosis
or breeding causing hemophilia I think the real key to this is people
and that my nurses my various medical assistance are super
we don't just give the attitude that we care about each
individual patient in fact we do care about each individual patient
I really feel challenged by patients who are very sick.
Those are the patients I want to look after
and those are the patients I wanna make while. We can devote much more time
much more energy to very difficult cases
the other huge advantage of the university is you've got an aggregate of
so many competent physicians
really good pathologist really good people reading X-rays
really good performance of testing I got surgeons working beside me I've got
urologists and Gynecologists pulmonary talks liver docs
kidney doc skin people neurologists I'm surrounded by
experts and I can call on them for the expertise
and they'll respond to me very rapidly what a great joy is when patients come
in scared we make a definitive diagnosis
or something that doesn't matter that they are not gonna die of their disease
and they just gonna take make minor adjustments and get back get back to
their lives again
