Hi! This is Brenda, today we’re working on our cards using sponges. Now I'm going to take just a regular kitchen sponge today that’s never been used, I'm going to take some acrylic paint and I'm just going to start doing some random patterns on here like this. This is a fun project to work on and kids would love it on a rainy day, just make some random splotches like this using various colors and try to cover up the whole sponge if you want to or you don't have to if you don't want to, then I’ve got some 5x8 index cards over here, that’s what our card is going to become. I'm going to fold a sheet of 5x8 index card in half and it’s a good heavy stock to work with and it always comes out good for me when I make cards like this, so I'm just using some random colors, you could use your school colors if you’d like or if it’s a wedding shower you could use the colors of the brides bridesmaids dresses whatever you’d like, try to cover up all the sponge if you could. Then I have my index card that I’ve folded in half and I'm just going to position the sponge like this right in the center and then I'm going to use my hand and really push down hard to make sure that all of my acrylic paint gets down here on the card, lift if up and this is what we have and it’s just a kind of a random pattern, let it dry and you can write your message on the inside, put in a envelope and it’s ready to mail. You could also use some bows if you’d like to embellish it, some glitter, use your acrylic paint if you want to write some names or a little verse inside and it’s ready to mail.
