[Sebastian] My name is Sebastian Thrun, I'm a Stanford Research Professor,
a Google VP and Fellow.
In the class "Artificial Intelligence for Robotics", I'd like to teach you
the very basics of Artificial Intelligence and I'd like you to program
all the basic algorithms for an actual self-driving car.
In seven weeks time you should be able to build your own self-driving car.
So, right now I'm in Google self-driving car,
the car that my team and I have been building up over the last couple of years,
and when I hit the button:
[car] Auto-driving
[Sebastian] and the car is driving itself.
The steering wheel moves by itself, the gas, the brakes... it's sheer magic.
In seven weeks in this class, you will learn how to do this.
You'll really program the basic algorithms and data structures
necessary to build self-driving cars.
Prerequisites? Well, some programming experience is useful, we do this in Python.
Linear Algebra and Statistics is useful but not required
I just hope to see you in class on Feb 20th.
