Crooks and Castles. What's good, sir? I'm just trying. Trying to get like you. *laughs*
So I'm exiting off the freeway
and I see this sick mural. Mambo did it.
It's your building. So what was your personal reaction
when you first saw the final version, ya know?
I was like blown away. Cause
even when people see it now, or when you see it on like pictures or film
it doesn't do it any justice.
of how big it is. Ya know it's like a hundred and thirty feet long...Yeah, it's not a small space... and almost forty feet tall. So...
when I seen it,
I was just like amazed and
when you actually get to step back across the street and just look at this piece, it's just amazing. *music playing*
We're coming to you live with Mambo, out here in Los Angeles. Now this mural at
Crooks. It's incredible. So what was the concept for the...
for the whole design. It's big. It's a lot of area to work with.
Something that's really particular on this one, is that there are no pedestrians there. It's only for the cars
and trucks. So you have to be catchy.
That's why I made these big characters.
These really powerful colors. He came up with the concept, of just modern cannibalism.
It's pretty much what we go through in LA. It's a rat race, ya know? the rent you know you
You're stepping on people.
Ya know there's people who stab people in the back. You're just doing what you gotta do
to make it in this world. That one is called "Modern Cannibalism".
So it's for you to understand when you watch it but basically it's how
people can mistreat others to achieve their goals.
Ya know that's the beauty about artists. It's true. It's real. And you take your own interpretation out of it.
Its really a blessing.
Have you seen some of the reactions of people yet when they're driving off the off ramp and see it? Honks. *laughs* Honks?
Well during it people were just honking.
And ya know what's cool is that nobody's messed with it.
Which is really good. I've seen respect of art go up in the last couple of years
and
you know it's
it's a testament to people's love for art.
