Hi, I'm Shaun Schaefer, on behalf of Expert Village, and today I'm going to show you how
to change a drumhead and tune the drum. Okay, now that we've finger-tightened all the lugs,
it is important to make sure that the gap, there's a little gap between the edge of the
drumhead and the rim, it is important to make sure that that is about the same all the way
around. The reason for that is because if it's closer over here that means there's more
tension on this side of the drum as opposed to this side, and that could hurt your shell,
that could maybe damage it in a way, I've seen drum shells actually collapse if that
happens, so you don't want too much pressure on one given side. So this gap, this appears
to be okay, so we can proceed on to the next step of actually getting the lugs tightened
and getting the drum sounding good! So let's take a look.
