SOLDIERS FOR VETERANS DAY.
PAM ELLIOT IS HERE TO SHOW US
THE FLAG DEDICATION THAT
HONORED ONE SOLDIER IN
3
WE'RE TALKING ABOUT A
HOMETOWN HERO WHO EARLIER THIS
YEAR DIED SERVING DURING
OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM IN
AFGHANISTAN. IN 2007 PRIVATE
FIRST CLASS JEFF RICE
GRADUATED FROM TROY HIGH
SCHOOL AND THE UPPER VALLEY
CAREER CENTERWHERE HE MAJORED
IN WELDING. AT THE
VOCATIONAL SCHOOL TODAY A
SPECIAL SCULPTURE AND PLAQUE
WERE REVEALED HONORING RICE
AND HIS SACRIFICE. A CROWD
OF STUDENTS JOINED IN A MOMENT
OF SILENCE.
CENTER: WE REALLY WANTED TO
MAKE SURE THE STUDENTS
UNDERSTOOD THE SIGNIFICANCE OF
HIS SACRIFICE. I THINK THE
CEREMONY WAS VERY WELL
RECEIVED AND MEANT SO MUCH TO
ALL OF US. FAMILY
