In this video we are highlighting a few new features of version 1.4.
As you can see here, this is a simple project, and we will provide a better one in the near
future. However, it does show a few features I need to use in my upcoming children’s
book.
First thing you will notice is this button, called “Drag Layer”.
Just pick a layer, for example “ball”, and click “Drag Layer”.
Another new feature is the button system.
Let me open this button, related to this picture frame.
You will see a different interface for buttons.
We needed to review it because now you can have multiple actions per button.
For future versions you will notice a new interface for Kwik, due the fact we cannot
add any new features, as the current interface cannot handle them anymore.
You still have the regular info, as well as buttons for each actions.
In this example, the first one is a “Play Animation”.
Also, we need to Hide and Show the background. Click “Show/Hide”…
…and Hide the background when clicked. This is allow you to toggle, showing or hiding
it as requested.
Now you have 2 actions in just 1 button.
We also reviewed the animation system in this version.
Starting with the “ball”, you may notice a few things…
First one: new Easing options were added, including Bounce, Elastic and Back.
I will use the OutBounce in this example.
You can also now define looping for Linear animations, even request the animation to
play in reverse. You can optionally add a audio to play.
In the example, the ball will fall and bounce when hit the floor.
For the cat, it will cross the eyes. Let’s animate them.
Let’s move the eyes a little to the right.
They will move forever, being a “Wait request” type.
Also, they will play in reverse when reach the end position.
The last thing I would like to share, it a trick I am doing for the book.
I am planning to have a seesaw. And now it is easy to do that.
I basically rotate the rectangle 30 degrees. And again, checked the “Reverse after ending”.
Let’s see it done.
Let’s look the ball first. You see it bounces when hitting the ground.
Here is the seesaw. When I click the picture frame,
The cat’s eyes move and The background disappears.
If you click again, the background appears.
Another thing I forgot to mention is the drag. I now can simply drag the ball. An easy way
to add more interaction To your projects.
Simple examples of what you can do with version 1.4
More coming in next version but, the new button system allow us now
to Add more features.
