Hey Vsauce, I'm Jake and if you like the original playstation, Tekken 3 and being electrocuted
then meet The Tekken Torture Tournament, an event that had willing participants wired
to a hacked playstation. It also had modified software running that converted every virtual
hit you received in the game into a painful, non lethal electric shock.
But instead of just 1 bit of knowledge, this is 9bit.
This incredible papercraft of War from Darksiders was made by artist MiniDelirium, who also built
a life sized sculpture of Zelda that took over 226 hours to make and stands about 5'6"
tall. You can download the template for both and try making them yourself...
Or you could play the original Legend of Zelda, not the version released at the end of 1987
in Europe and North America for the NES, but the one that came out in Japan in 1986 for
a completely different console, the Famicom Disk System. The Famicom Disk System was an
add-on to the Famicom Console which was the Japanese version of the Nintendo Entertainment System.
The system used disk cards instead of cartridges and you could save games directly to the disk.
One of the coolest aspects was that the disks were re-writable, so to save money you could
take your old game to a kiosk that would write a new game onto your existing card. Another
interesting feature was that the controller had a built in microphone so in Legend of
Zelda, you would have to defeat a certain enemy by yelling into the controller.
If you want to find out more Zelda facts, Did You
Know Gaming has an awesome video series about it...
But for a game that was never released, there is Alien: Crucible. Originally announced in
2006, Alien: Crucible was an RPG that was being developed the same time as Aliens: Colonial
Marines but by Obsidian, the people behind Fallout: New Vegas and Knights of the Old
Republic 2. Crucible was supposedly ready to ship when it was cancelled for unknown
reasons. But at least we have this awesome concept art to cry over...
Then console yourself with these incredible custom painted game systems and controllers
by artist Zoki64...
YouTuber AveMagnaDude makes incredible Minecraft styled animations. You may have seen his Assassin's
Craft 3, Battlecraft 3 or Ender Scrolls 5 videos, but he also makes amazing shorts like
this one called "The Parable of Brin"...
If it's speed you want, there's the OutRun Arcade...car. This carcade, created by Garnet
Hertz, uses cameras and custom software built in the windshield to make an augmented reality
driving experience. It reads the geometry of the street and converts it into the style
of the game, so you can navigate real life through the actual arcade steering wheel and
screen.
For a smaller arcade experience there is Vcoleiro1 who makes tiny custom arcade cabinets. He
specializes in modding current systems to fit into the miniscule enclosures like the
worlds smallest Cocktail Arcade made partially out of an iPhone. Or this tiny Space Invaders
cabinet made out of a deconstructed Game Boy Advance...
For even more dedication there is Lisa Courtney who has spent over 15 years getting as much
Pokémon memorabilia as she can. As of the last count in 2010, she owns over 13,400 pieces
and holds the world record for largest Pokémon Collection. One could say that she has really
caught them all.

I'm Jake and as always, thanks for watching.
