Activity 4, another 3-D exercise to make a simple CD case.
I'll sketch it out first and show you what I'm going to do.
Basically constructing two squares.
When I measured a CD case, the CD measured 120mm.
So I've made my squares each 125mm.
We need to put a tab on two sides, there and there,
so that when it folds together, they're held together.
I need to put another tab on the front.
So it's a very simple activity.
If you follow the dimensions in the workbook
you'll end up with a drawing that looks like that.
You can either do your drawing on a piece of paper
like we did for the previous exercise,
cut it out and stick it onto a piece of cardboard
or you can draw it straight onto the cardboard as we did before.
So here's my piece of cardboard from a cereal packet
You can see that I've got the two tabs
and these have been scored so that they fold over.
I've got a third tab here and I can simply now fold that over,
apply a bit of glue, ordinary paper glue along those edges onto there,
fold that over, put something heavy on that for a few minutes
so that it sticks
and then you can try it out with your CD into there.
