Former Emmerdale actress speaks out after losing impressive 6 stone in weight
LISA Riley has revealed her excess skin woes following her dramatic 6 stone weight loss.
The former Emmerdale actress admitted the skin on her stomach resembled “untossed pizza dough” in a new candid interview about her weight struggles.
The 39 year old was able to shift the weight thanks to a lifestyle overhaul, for which she quit binge drinking and comfort eating.
After confessing to eating 19 Twix bars in one sitting at her worst, Lisa said she piled on the pounds as a result of her mum’s death.
Lisa also admitted to snacking on entire tubes of Pringles and downing bottles of wine in one session.
She also revealed how starring on Strictly Come Dancing in 2012 fuelled her weight loss journey.
“My weight loss began with Strictly, but after a show, I’d go home and have pasta and garlic bread,” she told Best magazine.
“Before that, on tour with Calendar Girls, I’d have a big brunch, another feed before an evening show,
drinks afterwards, and then, at the hotel, order egg toasties at 1am. It was nuts.”
Speaking about losing her mum to cancer in July 2012, Lisa opened up about not giving herself enough time to heal, leading her to seek comfort elsewhere.
“Was I subconsciously comfort-eating? Probably. Binge-drinking? Absolutely.”
And now the TV and theatre star is thinking about drastic measures to reduce the excess skin still remaining.
“My stomach looks like untossed pizza dough! I’ll probably need surgery, it’s like I’ve been pregnant for 39 years!”
