Welcome, I am Leo Heremans. I live in Vorselaar.
We organise a PIPA auction on 5 May so I would like to
guide you through my lofts.
I will also show you a few birds in the hand.
This is our widowers' loft.
I have three lofts with widowers; three lofts with nine boxes each.
In each loft I keep two birds in cardboard boxes just to have a few extra pigeons in the lofts.
Here we have the National Ace Pigeon KBDB Young Birds: Bolt.
He is very nervous because he wants to be with his hen.
This is Bolt's brother.
He has won three first prizes.
A wonderful pigeon in the hand and an excellent racer.
This is Tingo,
12th National Ace Pigeon KBDB Young Birds last season.
The pigeons are all paired now; most of them have a young bird at the moment.
I hope one of these will be a great champion one day. I think these young birds look great.
They are only three days old.
This pigeon has youngsters as well.
This season's youngsters have already been set aside.
All birds that will be bred this season are set aside already.
Here we are in one of my breeding lofts. I have seven in total.
I call this the new breeding loft.
All of these birds have a youngster as well.
This is Safier.
This pigeon will be sold in bis.
Four pairs will be sold in bis, which this is a total of eight pigeons,
and the buyer can choose between the pigeons he buys in that bis auction.
This means I can keep two pairs just to enjoy my hobby.
This pigeon has two youngsters.
I will show them to you.
These are two great young birds.
This is the loft of my young birds. It's my favourite loft.
This is the first thing I do every morning: I release the young birds.
This is where I put 15 young birds every season to be played in full widowhood.
I pair them to an old hen.
So this is my favourite loft; the young birds' loft.
There is a camper behind me,
where a few guards are keeping an eye on my pigeons every night.
There will be surveillance every night until the pigeons have been sold on PIPA.
Just to make me feel at ease and to know everything is safe here.
