CO2 Logic is based in Brussels but we are active internationally, which is why we see the benefits of having a Community trade mark
for the 27 EU countries.
We registered our trademark through a contact for the 27 countries, which we found to be good value for money.
Tanguy and I set up CO2 Logic late in 2006 and specialise in calculating, reducing and offsetting CO2.
As everyone knows, CO2 emissions have an impact on climate change and therefore it is important to make efforts to reduce
them as far as possible.
It is also clear that there are a great many opportunities for reducing these CO2 emissions and thus for reducing energy costs.
In addition to our CO2 Logic trademark, we also registered the CO2 Neutral label which rewards and acknowledges
the efforts of companies that have striven to measure, reduce and offset to become CO2 neutral.
We offset incompressible CO2 emissions through UN-certified renewable energy projects in India, China,
Africa and South America.
These are mostly renewable energy or energy-efficiency projects supported through UN carbon credits.
One promising project in our portfolio is called efficient fireplaces. This involves providing small ovens to the local
population to replace inefficient ovens or encourage more efficient ways of cooking to avoid inefficient wood consumption.
Generally speaking it is the women in Africa who are responsible for cutting firewood, which they sometimes have to travel
a long way to find, walking kilometres and carrying it back on their heads to be burnt in their fireplace for cooking.
However, all too often their fireplace consists of a few stones with a little wood burning on top. This is a highly inefficient
system, requiring a lot more firewood than a small oven.
We therefore increase efficiency, as less wood is required for the same energy yield, added to which such ovens produce less CO2
and so help to mitigate deforestation.
The small ovens that we provide through this project will help to avoid deforestation and reduce emissions of toxic gases in the home.
