Arts & Culture: Part 2 - Korean box office top 5

well we will have to wait and see but this year sounds like it will be a major boxing match between the flood of foreign films and the movies produced in korea. that's right. and if you just can't wait for any of these great blockbusters to be released and just have to hit the movies this weekend here is a look at the five hottest films at the korean box office right now. starting off our countdown of the top five movies in korea this past weekend is the wolf of wall street directed by martin scorsese and starring leonardo dicaprio and jonah hill. the film is based on the real life events of stockbroker jordan belfort who made millions scamming blue collar americans. the film documents his extravagant life of debauchery and drugs -- all paid for with the fraudulent money earned through his magical sales pitches. at number four this week is the korean film plan man directed by sung si-heub and star ring jung jae-young and han ji-min. the film tells the story of the overly obsess ive compulsive and germophobic guy jung-suk who one day meets a lady named so-jung who happens to be the exact opposite of him. at number three this week is the animated film tarzan directed by reinhard kloos and starring kellan lutz. the runner up to the top spot -- again -- this week is the suspect directed by won shin- yeon and starring gong yoo and park hee-soon . and the top film of the week -- once again -- is the korean blockbuster the attorney directed by yang woo-seok and starring song kang-ho and kim young-ae. the film follows song woo-seok whose one and only goal as a tax attorney is to make money . that is until one day he meets a terrorized student activist jin-woo who is unjustly beat en and tortured for his views. will woo-seok jeopardize his career and his future to defy an unjust system find out in the number one film of the week the attorney. so it's no surprise that the attorney is once again atop the box office rankings but the film the suspect has continued to do well too. that is quite perceptive and i think it will be one of those mid-tier movies that manage s to do relatively well hitting over the 5 -million mark in total viewership. but what we need to remember is that this film is also currently running in north america as well. alright. well quite a lot of different things to look forward to in the film world this year and i'm sure you'll be keeping us up to date as we go along. thank you tae ho for that report today and we'll see you again tomorrow. okay have a great afternoon.
