Welcome to The Voice and Swallowing Institute. I'm Dr. Michael Pitman. I'm a laryngologist and the Director of the Institute. I'm Amy Cooper. I'm Director of Speech Pathology and a singing voice specialist. We've created some very short videos on disorders that you may be researching here. In addition, we refer you to other sites as well as to some research papers that are pertinent. Because we take care of performers from the Metropolitan Opera or rock singers, you're gonna see a lot of information on this website that's tailored to professional voice use. We learn a lot from caring for those patients that we can translate to the care of a baseball coach or someone who's in a service industry or answers telephones for a living. Which we may do with behavioral management, which would involve voice or swallowing therapy. Or through medical management or surgery when needed.
