Every semester, the library gets thousands of students, asking if we have their textbook.
The short answer is "no." In most cases, we will not have your textbook. Students obviously
want to know why. Isn't the library all about books? The library serves Community College
of Denver, Metro State, and UC Denver. Serving three institutions makes our job exciting,
but also creates a lot of opportunity to crash and burn. The delicate balancing act runs
the library. CCD offers about 5,500 courses. Metro another 2,600, and UCD over 5,800. For
more than 13,000 courses a year.
We couldn't possibly keep up with that many. The bookstore's only two blocks north of the
library, in the Tivoli Student Union. Here's how it looks from the street level.

The Bookstore's on the west end of the building.
You still may be able to find some of your required books in the library.
Go to:
>>TYPING
"Library -- dot -- Auraria -- dot -- EDU" where you can search for all your books from
the library's homepage.
For example, "The Genie in the Bottle." Once you locate your title, check its location,
call number, and availability. If we don't have a book -- for example, "Andrew Jackson
and HIs Indian Wars," which you can clearly see we do not have -- but we can request it
through Prospector. You'll see an icon at the bottom and top of your screen. Simply
click that icon, and you will see your title here. To request the book, simply click "Request
This Item," select "Auraria" from the drop-down menu, put in your information, and click "Submit".
