Hi, my name's Gemma Lambert, I'm twelve times UK Nail Champion, International competition
nail technician of the Year 2009 and an international nail judge.
This nail we're going to do a colour glitter fade.
We're just going to quickly go through the prep, pushing the cuticles back,
scraping any excess cuticle off with the other end of your cuticle pusher,
file any shine off that natural nail,
shape your free edge,
dust off that excess dust,
and apply your tip.
Cut your tip to the required length,
and the apply your dehydrator, natural nail only.
That's the prep done and you're ready to start applying your acrylic.
So, for this design I'm going to use the pink powder.
I'm also going to use a purple powder and three different coloured glitters: a purple,
a pink and a sliver.
I'm going to start by applying a vey thin bead, a small bead,
of purple powder right to the tip of the nail,
press it out to one side, press it out to the other,
and then turn your brush all the way round and blend towards your client.
just using that tip of your brush, just to feather it down,
belly of your brush to pat it down.
Next you're going to pick up a bead of pink and dip it in to your purple glitter,
and do the same what you've just done with your purple powder,
press it into the middle, press it out, and blend down towards the client.
If you've got any bits missing just fill them in
doing the same again, picking up your pink, dipping into your glitter
and press it down.
So, next we're going to dip into our pink glitter by picking up a bead of pink powder
then dipping into our pink glitter.
You're going to place this onto the centre of the nail,
press out to the side and pull back over the purple.
Then you're going to draw it back down towards the client.
Next we're going to dip in to our silver glitter, by dipping into our pink powder then into
our silver again.
This is going to go down to your cuticle area
and then you're going to blend it back up over the top of the pink.
You now need to cover the whole nail in pink acrylic.
Your pink glitters are just there for colour, not for strength
your acrylic is there for strength.
You're going to let that pink acrylic set a little bit and then we're going to pinch
this nail.
Place the pincher on the centre of the nail and let go and let the pincher do the work.
So this nail's set now so we can now start to file.
If you wanted to put any artwork onto this nail you would then have to buff, put your
artwork on and then put your gel top coat on.
But because we're just going to put a gel top coat on, all we need to do is dust and
apply the gel top coat.
Once that gel top coat's on, pop your client in the lamp for two minutes.
All we need to do to this nail now is apply cuticle oil, massage it into the cuticle and
then we're done.
