>> Karina Pardo, Sr. Account Executive, Desai Communications:
So primarily we use our postage meter for invoicing. So, on a daily basis we use it
to send out flats.
>> Jeff Crouse, Vice President, Small & Medium Business: Well the headline is, this year
- for the first time ever - the Postal Service is actually going to give you a discount of
one cent off of your mailing and shipping this year simply for using a postage meter.
So never before, have been the price of a stamp and the price of a metered mail been
different and so, from now on, going forward, the postal service is going to be giving a
discount to metered mail customers. So on top of the convenience you have actual cost
savings from the postal service.
>>Karina Pardo, Desai Communications: You know, for a small business, every cent counts
and this is just something that we’re really excited about.
Every Pitney Bowes customer, every postage meter user is going to save money with this.
So, no matter whether you’re doing a small amount of mail, or whether your doing incredibly
large mounts of mail, every Pitney Bowes customer saves money with this new discount.
So, when we look at Pitney Bowes customers in North America, we believe that they will
save at least $50 million next year due to these discounts. That's a significant savings
for these customers. Some customers that are at the high end of what they’re mailing,
are going to be saving more from this discount than the postage meter actually even costs
them. So, going forward, for some of these customers, having a postage meter is free
and they’re getting a discount on their postage.
It’s a no brainer.
The bottom line is, it makes perfect sense to have a meter because you will have cost
savings no matter what.
