Getting Started - Moonlit cove 1/9 - Part1

I probably hate this time the most. a blank canvas and you have no idea what you want to paint. well, since I still don't know what I want to paint yet... this is just cheap foam board. A foam board. I covered it in Gesso. and just use it for practice, that's all. this is what I did the other big wave on. with the big wave crashing over. but yeah, I'll probably of course just practice seascape. this is my brush cleaner. A big peanut butter jar with some chicken wire--fence in there. So you just stick your brush in there... decompression rub it on the wire, and it gets it nice and clean. These are cheap paints from Walmart. they were like five bucks (dollars). Just so I'd have an assortment of colors. Got my Naples yellow, Veridian,... Cerulean Blue, white (titanium white), Payne's Grey... those right there are probably the colors that I'll use the most in seascapes. everything can pretty much be derived from that. I try to limit the Paynes grey and I don't use black. By mixing burnt umber and some, either Cobalt or Ultramarine Blue, I can get a pretty deep color black. (and add a little yellow to it). I don't know if you can see that or not. This right here is actually (it's almost green-ish), but that was a mixture of those colors. and actually some green in there too. I'm not happy with that really at all. I started adding more detail into this. I want to add more detail into this big cloud here not happy with the whale... doesn't look anything like I want. This was just to show where I want the dark cloud here... that is going to have some highlights from the sun I'll play with it when I get to it someday. on different ideas this one fence thank you know storm this was my first field storming Co I was not happy with the way it was going so I just I just stop grabbed a another campus which is basically have painted over neway on some older campuses sense and these of you can still see the remnants over Bob Ross mouton here I'll thats few things this one I still don't know what I wanna do it this I'm a change to our caller more to an trying to do view from C about for months ago and wasn't working out and then I got the DVD so no more this one and is know the work in progress this summer to other one idea this one's for my mother anything so me you know this stuff out on the campus for see how much power and I'll be right back I'll this is the makeup brush I've borrowed store from my wife for a Blaney works very well but as a Stephen chuckle can be careful cuz it does leave small here's this I'll little synthetic makeup brush on a throwaway because that would just are falling apart breaking and leaving here everywhere so I don't recommend actually use this is an all the Bob Ross brush for a bush's and for you I still use it blood I use it as my mic as a blending brush which a also have hope a blending brush from Bob Ross back in the day when I was learning how to paint om me you have some cheapo little russia's for lani but I'll I still mostly brushes more I'll the blending brush is actually use the most are how I got are grocery store actually has a little I'll have I'll you know budget stuff for like fixing your home do it do it yourself kind of things like spray-paint things of that nature left a these these work fine for blending I have a lot of different brushes this is my favorite brush for detail work I stole it from miss you borrowed it from my wife Shia mmm she used to do a lot of work with acrylics so love her brushes she use for acrylics have up Mar so very some fine detail brushes some synthetic pressure Cesar I love these synthetic brushes for dewey most of the detail down to in small enough at work company brush this right here when it comes to fine fine detail work this little Russia here is small sable brush so-so Kenya such fine blending with this better than I can this
