Happy Monday, guys! Naomi back with your Fix for October 10th.
So, according to the upcoming issue of PC PowerPlay Mass Effect 3 will apparently have
Multiplayer. The cover-line of the Australian game magazine’s latest issue suggests some
form of co-op, but other than that, no further details were given. We’ll let you know as
soon as we hear anything. But until then, we want to hear from you. Does multiplayer
in Mass Effect sound like a total win or is it something that should left out of the series
altogether? Let us know in the comments below. Next up, Xbox. The new dashboard update is
on its way, bringing with it HBO and Verizon apps for US gamers as well as the BBC iPlayer
for those who live in the UK. According to sources close to GigaOM, the update will arrive
on Black Friday, or in other words, November 25th. As the date approaches, keep it locked
to IGN for hands-on impressions and previews of the new dashboard update.
In other Xbox news, if you bought Gears of War 3, do not play Horde Mode in Split-screen.
Many gamers are reporting that game freezes or crashes when running split-screen in this
mode. If you later restart the game, a glitch occurs causing permanent damage to your player
profile, which prevents Gears 3 from booting up in ANY mode, so….Don’t say we didn’t
warn you… Finally in case you hadn’t heard, a month
ago, Netflix announced Qwikster: a new, separate website dedicated to DVD-rentals by mail only.
But, according to Reed Hastings, the service is already a bust. The Netflix CEO stated
“that for many of [their] members, two websites would make things more difficult, so [they’re]
going to keep Netflix as one place to go for online-streaming and DVDs.
This means no change: one website, one account, one password… no Qwikster.
And that’s your Fix for October 10th, 2011. I’m Naomi Kyle and be sure to get your Fix
