Replacing Tailgate Struts on Land Rover Lr3

Good morning it's Jim at Atlantic British. I take care of the technical support here. This morning we're going to be looking at struts on the LR3. We're going to start out with the rear strut. Ours has a weak one here and sometimes this tailgate wants to come down and pop you on the head. As you can see I have already installed a prop rod here to hold it up. It's a fairly simple operation. Get a screw driver that will fit the clips up here. You are going have one here, you are going to pry it up slightly. And there is another one back here you are going to pry it up. You may need a little pry tool to get this off. As you can see this wanted to drop slightly. Here are the clips. There's one here and all you really have to do is get a screw driver in here and lever them up a little bit. And lever them back up here. I have the new part here. You can hear our shipping and receiving department in the back. When you get your new part the clips are going to be down like this in place. It's a simple installation. You get the back one. It just pops in place. Like that. You may have to lift this up slightly to get your new one on there, like that. And test to make sure it goes up. I've got the new part here.
