The first release from the A-List in twenty-fourteen, Bruce Springsteen's 'High Hopes' is a collection
of covers and updated versions of his own material. Since guitarist Steven Van Zant
was busy filming his Netflix series Lily-Hammer, Springsteen enlisted Rage Against the Machine's
Tom Mo-Rellow to appear on most of the album, including a vocal duet between the two on
"The Ghost of Tom Joad."
After a year and a half on baby duty, Sugar Land's Jennifer Nettles returns to the music
world with her solo debut, 'That Girl.' The album is based on her collaborations with
other songwriters, including Richard Marx, Butch Walker and Sara Buh-Rell-Es, as well
as a cover of Bob Seger's "Like a Rock."
The release of 'Give the People What They Want,' the latest from Sharon Jones and the
Dap Kings, arrives this week, after being postponed when Jones was diagnosed with pancreatic
cancer in twenty-thirteen. Recorded before her illness, the album is 10 cuts of what
Jones and the Dap Kings do best - pure soul, funk and R and B.
