Tricks is a game that's just basically raw high cards, taking as many tricks as you can,
it's trump. It's basically whist with a strong, uptown trump suit. Or, maybe, a lot of side
suit winners. Some people play an option of playing no trump. Most groups play with tricks
being a designated trump suit. This is the game that you want to call when you've got
a least a strong five card suit. Preferably, a six card suit and if you're fortunately
enough to be served a seven card suit on the deal, it becomes a good situation to use tricks.
You want to come out of Tricks with at least, and they're five points a piece, you want
to come out of Tricks with at least thirty points. Preferably thirty five or even forty.
Partly because you want to be rewarded with a positive trick taking game and you want
your opponents deprived of the opportunity to grab five trick off your bid. When you're
defending against tricks, you want to take as many as you can because you'd be very fortunate
to take twenty or twenty five if somebody else has declared tricks.
