The Kansas Board of Regents took two days to visit Pittsburg State University where
they met with students, faculty and staff. For Regent Chair Ed McKechnie, he understands
it’s all about direction and leadership. Ed McKechnie-“Well a lot of its good things
that are already happening. So we want to be updated on what’s happened in the past
but the most important part is looking forward. What’s the leadership working on? What’s
the focus? How can we help from a board perspective?” For President Scott, having the regents on-campus
has been a great experience and he hopes they’ll remember what they’ve heard and seen during
their visit. President Steve Scott-“I think more than anything what I hope that they’ll
see is the energy that we have on this campus. The momentum that we have underway. Get an
experience with the students, the faculty, the staff and the leadership team that we’ve
put together. I think they’ll drive away from here very confident in the future of
Pittsburg State.”
