Good morning to all and welcome to another video Today I want to talk about Adventure Time with Fionna & Cake the gender-swapped version of the Adventure Time that everybody knows and of which I hadn't talk in this video The Adventure Time with Fionna & Cake AU was born from an idea by Natasha Allegri The Adventure Time TV Series Character Designer This AU appears for the first time in the 9th episode of the 3rd series wich title is "Fionna & Cake" This episode also has an alternative opening with all the swapped characters At the end of the episode we discover that it's a fanfiction written by Ice King The second episode with the swapped protagonists went on air during february in 2013 the title was "Bad Little Boy" As intuitively the peculiarity of Adventure Time with Fionna & Cake is that the majority of the characters is gender-swapped In effect there is, who is crearly Finn's alter ego and with whom shares most of her way of thinking and appearance but, as you can see, even if the color scheme is the same for both of them we have, in reality, the white hat, but with bunny ears the blue t-shirt, but with three-quarters sleeves the blue bottom piece that in this case is a skirt and instead of the shoes with short socks she has black flats and white otk socks Intead of Jake there is Cake which is a cat She has the same color scheme as Jake yellow and white but in this case they are reversed with more spots Then there is Prince Gumball who is the male version of Princess Bubblegum Marshall Lee who is the male version of Marceline There is also Lumpy Space Prince Prince Flame and Ice Queen who is the female version of Ice King and, in my opinion, unlike Ice King who is a bit pitiable I don't see him as a stong antagonist insteas I see Ice Queen as a more evil character Still speaking about Ice Queen, there are no info about the penguins: Gunter and the others. For the complete list of the swapped character I'll leave a link to the wiki in the info box Speaking about the volume itself, in this case too there is a main story that goes on in more than one chapter and a side story at the end the main story in this volume begins with a legend told by Cake to Fionna about the origin of the volcanoes I really would love to let you see how beautiful these images are I like the AT's art style, but I think that those drawing are particularly beautiful particularly artistic After telling the legend, we see some baby Fire Lions chased by Ice Queen and Fionna and Cake rush to save them I'll stop here to not spoil too much The back-up story, instead, is about a sweater thief and the hunting for them of Fionna, Cake, Marshall Lee and Prince Gumball I really enjoyed this first volume I liked the fact that they mantained the nonsense humor typical of Adventure Time but the story isn't influenced by it too much and it mantains a little bit of "seriousness" I like how they characterized Fionna She isn't a snob nor a invincible super heroine nor a blondie airhead she is a proper Finn's alter-ego Finn in a skirt I also like Ice Queen a great deal, I really feel like she is more evil than Ice King and I like that a lot In the USA the series is concluded in 6 volumes and is published by BOOM!Studios which also publish the "normal" Adventure Time In Italy it's published by Panini whit 2 volumes in 1 formula So I think that here we will have 3 volumes in total instead of 6 In effect to print this volume thay took the main story of the first 2 USA volumes Here it is the end of the first one and the begin of the second one There is only the back-up story of the first volume and this makes me think: "Where is the one from the second volume?" It's a mistery. The price is 2,90€ a volume but at 5€ there is the variant with the plushy cover Look at how beautiful is the plushy cover wich costs, as said, 5€. In the end I absolutely recommend it to all the Adventure Time fans because it's more enjoyable if you know the background but I think it is enjoyable enough even as a stand-alone comics So let me know if you bought it or if you are going to and if you are going to buy the adorable variant whit the plushy cover I love so much I would love to have all my favourite manga and comics in general with a plushy cover so that I can stroke it as much as I want That's all for this video, see you next time!
