Alright, pay attention now - I'm Referee Ralph and I love being around all kinds of sports and
games. Watch closely and count along with me...
One - One golfer hits a little white ball with a club and tries to put it into a hole - The player
with the lowest number of hits - or strokes - is the winner.
Two - Two people have fun playing tennis,
where they use a racket to hit the ball back and forth over a net.
Three - Three holes in a bowling ball, which is thrown down an alley - the bowler tries to knock
down as many pins as they can.
Four - Four card players can play games like bridge, hearts, gin rummy,
go fish, poker, and lots more.
Five - Five players on a basketball team. They're usually very tall, but anyone can play - They
bounce the ball down the court and try to put it through a basket-shaped net.
Six - Six players on a hockey team. They skate on ice and use a wooden stick to shoot a rubber
puck into the opponent's net.
Seven - Seven points are scored in football. One team tries to run or pass a ball down the field,
hoping to cross the end zone and score seven points with a touchdown.
Eight - Eight is the number of the black ball on a pool table. Players use sticks, called cues, to
hit the colored balls into the holes on a pool table.
Nine - Nine players on a baseball team. Two teams pitch, hit, run, catch, throw and try to score
runs against each other.
Ten - Ten players on a softball team. Softball is a lot like baseball, but the ball is much bigger.
Alright, there they are! Say them with me - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 - Very good! Let's do them
