Hi and welcome back to Kat’s Closet.
Now, Autumn is the perfect time to look at refreshing your wardrobe.
So this week I’m going to be looking at creating a capsule collection that is fantastic for work.
I’ll be showing you how to get these great looks.
I’m going to help you build a capsule collection around this floral suit.
but first we are going to start with the basics.
Here we have the first outfit of the week.
Now every capsule collection needs that classic piece to start from
and then what better than the day time Little Black Dress?
The cut of this is beautiful. It’s simple and it looks professional.
The thing to remember with work wear is that you’re going to be washing it loads
and the great thing about this dress is the quality is fantastic.
So that was Monday, let’s go onto Tuesday.
So we have another classic piece here with the pencil skirt, but that doesn’t have to be boring.
I’ve gone for a Jacquard fabric because it’s going to be a really key texture for Autumn/Winter.
I put it with this shirt that is part of that brilliant floral suit that I showed you earlier.
And I also teamed it with Monday’s heels.
And now for Wednesday.
I never understand when everybody wants to wear black or grey, boring colours to work.
Why not inject some fun into your work wear and go for a print.
You can team it with a classic white shirt
or look for something with a bit more of a modern edge, like this one with its modern black collar.
Suiting shouldn’t have to mean frumpy.
I love chic simple-ness of this,
drawing you in at the waist with the one button and then the gorgeous cut of the cigarette pant.
Really super skinny and it still looks professional.
We’ve done half the week, so next up it’s Thursday.
If you can be a little more relaxed in the office,
they key to neutralising the prints from the capsule collection is with a tonal sweater.
This sweater will also look great with the skirt from Tuesday’s look.
And once again, these shoes work brilliantly.
So, we’ve nearly reached the end of the week. It’s time to go all out for Friday.
Here is our final outfit of the week and what I’m calling Fashion Forward Friday.
For a Friday, you really need an outfit that will take you from the office to drinks with your mates.
Now on paper I know it seems really scary to wear head to toe in matching prints,
but I promise it’s going to be one of the big looks for next season.
We’ve seen loads of celebrities out wearing it so take your queue from them and be bold and give it a go!
