and I would like to introduce our first guest for this evening
we're gonna be talking about a subject called Reiki
and our whole our guests right now is
Francesco Pisano and she is a
Reiki Master and I would like to be able to ask
some questions about that and so our first expert the question I have is
want is Reiki and where does that work come from hi penny thank you for having
me
is a Japanese healing art Reiki itself means
universal life force energy rei meaning universal life key
meaning energy and it was basically brought
to the western world by a japanese Buddhist monk named Macau
who sued back in the late 1800 so it's been
my hundred-and-some odd years and Macau Surti
was searching for a way for do understand why people could
why louminaries in the past could heal
with their hands interesting
now how did you get involved with that what was your interest
you're now Reiki master and what does it take to become that so could you give
me a little bit of history and understanding
of the practice of Reiki. Well Patty
back in 1991 I was
taken to a whole life Expo went to Reiki workshop
a lecture and the person was talking about Reiki
I was sort of dubious about it but I became very interested
after I had somebody actually put their hands on the back
have my shoulders and i felt the Reiki
and my eyes immediately closed and
I knew that I had to pursue this I knew I needed to find out more about what it
was
and so the next night I went and I actually had a Reiki session
and it was amazing
I knew that I had received this work before
but I didn't exactly know how but I knew that I knew this work
then after that I decided to
ask the person that was in charge of the sessions if she taught
and how I would go about learning this work
so how did you start
do you have to go to school to you have to take courses
what does that educational process entail
if you have an interest in that well it's basically it's a very simple
process
although it's a very powerful process in
two to three days a person can learn
how to do Reiki on themselves and other people
and also a be attuned to the Reiki energy
so keep could you explain what do you mean by tuned that's interesting
yes so the interesting thing about Reiki is that
the attunement process years and energy activation process
the Reiki master basically
takes the initiate where the student through a traditional
process or ritual where he or she
passes on the energy activation to the person
what that does is opens up e2 the energy centers in the body
the hands most specifically because Reiki is transmitted through the hands
there are three levels to Reiki actually
I'm in the first level Reiki
we teach people how to do it on themselves primarily
but also how to do it on other people as well and then in the second level we
teach people how to
do Reiki on other people but
with a little bit more power and that comes from learning the Reiki symbols
there are
four symbols that are calligraphy symbols
that are taught in the Reiki classes and
three of these symbols are used in the Reiki two classes
and it's used basically to help people learn how to do
distant work so if you have somebody that needs Reiki but say
they're out of town or in another state or something
we can't be physically present with them all we need to do use
use the symbols to do and distant Reiki session with them and send the energy to
them
how do you send energy distant I can understand it
it's on yourself for its efforts on somebody right
that you're working on but that seems
thats unusual what do you mean by
you can do it on someone at the not even in the room they're not even in the same
city well it's similar to the concept van
into intercessory prayer or just any sort of prayer
inserted energy work what you doing is
it's based on the fact that really there's no time in space
and just because someone is not physically in the room with you
and you're not physically touching them it doesn't mean that you're not
connected
we're connected through a unified energy field anyway
and this is already been talked about by many different experts in the fields of
physics and
quantum physics and I'm Rupert Sheldrake for example
talking about term morphogenetic fields
anyway so if somebody is not present with you
and obviously you can still be in contact with them
on a a non-physical telepathic level
and we are all energy and we're all connected in some way shape or form
then basically we're just tapping into that person's
energy and thought form and were transmitting the Reiki that way
so they don't necessarily don't have to be president we call in their
platform we use a little proxy which is like a little bear stuffed animal or
something
and when proceed 2 send them Reiki
so then thats level to so then what's level 3
level 3 is if you want to become a raking master
and that level is actually for people who are very serious about Reiki
not everybody who learns Reiki from level 1 or level 2
will proceed to level 3 level 3 is someone who
is dedicated to going forward with their own spiritual development
and also taking this further out into the world
and helping people to work with their own
the spiritual development as well and in Reiki level 3
person in the class will learn how to do the attunement process the energy
activation I mention
as well as learn how to teach the other levels of
Reiki so for example in my level 3 class
I'm not only teach them how to do two men's but I also teach them how to do
a level one workshop or a level 2 workshop
and the level 3 and what you to those specific levels
requires I say now how
old is this or it it's considered a
complimentary sometimes also the word "alternative"
modality healing modality so is this something new is a spin around a long
time
you mention where it came from from Japan so
what's the history had a where did it come from
well okay it can I say it came from Japan because that's what Reiki means
it's universal life energy
but actually there's been some speculation that
Reiki itself or the energy that is Reiki
is much much older and could even be two or three thousand years old
there's been referenced that people in the past louminaries have used this energy
which is why Macau's who he was looking for
an explanation to Why certain noted figures throughout history have been
able to
use their hands to heal
well now so
was at the turn of the century that he brought this
understanding this training did he have
students did he himself come to
America how to you are here
in california you're doing modality call Reiki
you got it from instructor who is a master who got it from another master
from another
and so where did this we'll start that's really what I'm looking at where did it
come from
well Macau suing eventually taught a number of people
Reiki one of them notably being a man named doctor to you
to deter Higurashi he was a Japanese naval doctor
and doctor how ya she learned Reiki
ended up teaching raking and actually opening up a Reiki a clinic
in Tokyo and using the Reiki energy
I'm a woman named Hole Wyo to Qatar
back in the late nineteen thirties went to his clinic
because she herself she was Japanese Japanese descent
Hawaiian born went back to Japan because she was told by her family she needed
have medical treatment there they didn't expected to live
she was basically healed by doctor how ya she's
