Next herb we're going to talk about is Mo Yoa. Mo Yoa is better known as myrrh. It's
most commonly combined actually with frankincense, what we call Ru Xiang in Chinese. So, one
of the things that we use it for is actually for trauma, and it's particularly good for
postpartum bleeding. So one of the things I often times talk about is when the three
wise men traveled many years ago to visit baby Jesus, I always say they were probably,
at least two of the three were herbalists since they brought the gifts of frankincense
and myrrh. Those would have been the perfect medicines to bring for somebody who is getting,
just given birth and probably had some postpartum breathing, bleeding. It's very helpful for
bruising, broken bones. It's a little difficult to prepare so sometimes we have to boil it
up in order to melt this resin. The frankincense and myrrh actually comes from a tree so it's
actually harvested mostly in the Middle East. And it's one of those things that the Chinese
adopted about fifteen, fifteen hundred years ago, into their collection of herbs that they
use. So, it's oftentimes used together and so that combination of herbs working better
together is something that we call Du Yao's or herbal combinations and so it creates an
enhanced affect from those herbs. So Mo Yoa and Ru Xiang is a great Du Yao for trauma.
