Hey beauties! I'm Teni from MissMaven.com and I'm so excited
to be here sharing my "Beauty Do's, Don'ts, & Duhs"
I'm going to share my five favorite tips for keeping your makeup looking natural.
Tip #1 So, brows are something I could talk for DAYS
about. They are an essential part of a complete, beautiful face and there's something that
you definitely want to keep natural. Some of us have trouble doing that sometimes.
Let me take you on a trip down memory lane and show you a little history of my own brows.
Let's take a look at Teni circa 1993. This is me as a 9-year-old.
Of course, these are my natural brows. They're full, they're not super arched, and you know,
it's a good natural look for me. Now let's fast forward to me in college.
Not a good look. I would definitely recommend looking at pictures
of yourself as a child and really reverting back to that kind of shape. And really only
tweezing the strays on your brows and not trying to force an arch.
Keep it looking really natural and soft and I promise that your entire look will actually
look gorgeous. Tip #2
Another great way to keep it natural is to opt for a lighter coverage foundation.
There's definitely a time and a place for a full coverage foundation but for every day
use, I really like to use a tinted moisturizer
or a BB cream because they're lighter weight. They let your skin breathe and its a more
dewy finish which is perfect for every day. Let me show you a little comparison between
the two formulas. I've got a full coverage cream foundation
and I'm just going to swatch that so you can see just how thick and creamy it is.
This is a great foundation but for every day, I prefer something like going with a BB Cream
which is a much lighter formula. And again, I would definitely recommend applying
a BB cream or a tinted moisturizer with just your fingers because it's just a much quicker
way to apply. Tip #3
Creme blush versus powder blush. I am a big fan of creme blush because it keeps
the whole look really natural. So I'm just going to go ahead and apply on
both. And go in and just blend it out.
I'm just going to stipple this color in with my fingers.
And the warmth of skin-to-skin contact will really blend this into your skin.
And the other great thing about creme blush is that you can also use it on your lips.
Tip #4 Now I know when you think of a smokey eye,
you don't really think of natural. But there's definitely a way to keep it natural.
Just because its a smokey eye doesn't mean you have to layer on a ton of black liner.
That's been done to death. Right now, I have on more of a soft smokey
eye using warm, earthy colors. And I've been kind of conservative with the
black liner. Instead, I focused on creating a nice smokey
line across the bottom lash line making this an appropriate look for day or night.
And Bambi's going to help us with Tip #5 So, let's talk about the brow bone.
Personally, to keep it natural, I like to use a matte or maybe a satin finish for the
brow bone. As for shimmer, I like to try and stay away
from that. It's a little too dramatic for me.
I like to go with a matte vanilla color and concentrate right around the arch and blend
out and inward. Creating a nice matte highlight.
But if you're going to go for shimmer, I think that's something that's reserved for holiday
looks or maybe even on your lids. So be careful when you're using shimmer because
too much shimmer can turn into a really bad 80's nightmare.
This is totally like something that you do not want to do.
And that is it for me, guys. Thank you so much for being with me.
I hope you liked my five tips for keeping your makeup looking natural.
I would love it if you shared your tips in the comments.
I'll take a look at those. And if you like this video, give it a thumbs
up and I will see you guys hopefully soon! I'd like to honor Movember by showing you
some of my favorite makeup mustaches. I think Ricky likes tank tops. I'm not totally
sure. But I think he might enjoy tank tops as a
clothing option. If he's about to lean in for a kiss, and you're
all juicy and everything. You don't want that.
