>>Jackson: It started and I was kind of like
I've always been obsessed with armor.
You know.
Just a suit you could wear and so I was kind of like
I saw some people making Iron Man costumes
and I was like, 'Hey
I really want to do that.'
So. It just kind of turned into that.
[Music Playing]
It's a great accomplishment and this probably one of the
greatest projects I've ever attempted in my life.
When I started it, I didn't really want to advertise it, because I
have a habit of not following through on things a lot,
so I kind of wanted to get something worth showing.
Once I actually got the helmet in paper,
put it up on Facebook and people were like, 'Wow. That's really cool.'
Most of my friends actually think I'm insane
doing this.
I kind of get like, 'Dude. You're crazy.
Why are you wasting your life on this?'
It's just a passion for me.
That's why
I've done this whole thing,
but yeah they pretty much thought I was insane.
>>Jackson's Mom: Let Jackson be on the ...
>>Jackson: It's been going on for
my parents would say probably about
20 weeks, 400 hours spent on this whole thing.
About two weeks from May 7th, which was when Iron Man 2
was gonna
premiere.
Uh, two weeks I was kinda like
despairing that I would never finish this thing and I was kinda like, 'Y'know what?
This sucks. I'm not going to finish this.'
Yeah, I just kinda had to buckle down
the movie was my deadline.
So that was my whole
I was going to present this whole thing at the movie premier.
[Hip Hop MUSIC]
I like it when people walk in the door,
turn around
and they're like, 'Holy crap. That's Iron Man standing right there.'
And just their jaws drop and especially the little kids who are like,
freaked out
and they're like,
I don't want to go anywhere near you.
Then the other ones are like, 'Hey, mommy, mommy. Look it's Iron Man can I go get a
picture.'
I also went to Arrowhead Elementary School for my little brother
and that was really great.
The kids loved it.
I got open mouths and wide eyes looking at me the whole time, so
it was great.
People want me to come and
be Iron Man for like a fundraiser.
If we have
a friend of mine does
he does some
costuming for a group that they go to disabled
children, they go to fundraisers
for disabled kids.
They do all kinds of different
charity things.
So I'd really like to be able to do that.
This is really
a great project that I feel very accomplished
and I don't really know where I'm going to go from here; I'll probably build another
suit.
I can see
so many different problems with this one it's ridiculous.
So. I'll build something better.
