Hi, my name is Todd Still and I teach New Testament at Truett Seminary at Baylor University
and I’m grateful to be able to offer a word of support for Christians for Biblical Equality.
Recently the president of CBE, Mimi Haddad, has suggested that CBE exists as a theological
education organization. Myself as a theological educator, feel that it’s important to join
hands with CBE as they seek to speak for often the voiceless, to give opportunity for women
to respond to God’s call upon their lives and in so doing give them support and to give
resource. Another reason that I think CBE is an important
organization is it’s interdenominational. With 100 denominations being a part of CBE,
we begin to see how the body in all its bewildering diversity also is a body that is meant to
be marked by unity. In seeing the body of Christ in this way, we get a foretaste of
what we envision in Revelation will be every tongue, tribe, people, and nation.
I encourage you also to support CBE. The way you can do it is not only a personal level
but congregational level, not only congregational level but a denominational level. As you begin
to articulate reasons that men and women in Christ are shared co-laborers for the good
of the gospel, as we preach and teach, and work to be his body in this world until he comes.
