Hi
I'm Kiraly Garcia, from Tango Brasil channel, and I'm here today because I have a tip
that can greatly speed up your development in the tango.
Have you ever imagined yourself in a huge traffic jam, like you were stuck in that situation?
Well, I think it has already happened to many of us. To take an example, in the last week, I was
with Karina, my partner and fiancée, and also with our dog.
We were traveling from Florianópolis to São Paulo, and basically at the beginning
of the trip, we took the road to Joinville, which should take us around 2 hours to drive
and ended up taking 5. We left "Floripa" 6PM, and by 11PM
we were nearby Joinville. and we still had a long way to get to São Paulo.
But soon after this part of the route with an intense traffic had passed,
things started to flow smoothly and we were fine when we arrived in São Paulo. In addition,
we had a very pleasant and joyful trip. We got home 8:30AM, but it was all right.
Sometime, or most of the times, when
something like this happens, we tend to get nervous, anxious, bored, stressed out,
and in the end we perceive that there's not so much we can do to solve it,
and we end up wasting too much time (and energy).
However, if we do what we did in this trip, put a nice song on the radio,
talk with our partner for while... In our case, we were with our dog, so we
enjoyed the time with her, played with her... We spent our time in things we like, we stopped for a coffee...
The time seems to go by faster. And it seems you end up arriving to your destination earlier.
But why am I telling you this? Well, when we think about dancing, the same thing
happens. And it happens not only to me, but to everybody. Not only to me, not only to you.
Maybe it happens right in the beginning. For some people it is a bit difficult to start learning to dance.
On the other hand, sometimes you have a nice start, but in a certain day,
you may feel like you can't move forward. You get stuck in your development,
you can't learn as much as you wish.
Well, what are you going to feel in this moment? You will probably feel like things don't move,
you may feel anxious, you may feel stressed. You will put too much pressure
on yourself. Now, ask me how I know about that...
For the last eight years, I have been dancing tango. And summing up all the moments
in which I have passed through situations like this, and they were a lot, I have spent 2-3 years.
There were multiple moments in which I thought that it was not for me, that I should stop dancing
tango, that it was too difficult and, I don't know, maybe I should focus on something else. But after all,
it seems that, being here today, it seems that I was wrong.
Just like in a traffic jam, when you relax and have some fun, as
I started to do recently, it seems that your learning speed doubles.
It's awesome! But, as opposed to the traffic situation, this is not
only an impression. Several studies point out that actually we
don't learn well when we are under pressure, when we are stressed out.
You don't get to coordinate your mind, neither your body, the psychomotor development,
which you need so much in order to dance. So, that's it! If you want to enjoy
your tango learning process, enjoy what you have in each moment.
Hard times will come. Moments in which you will feel that something is
stuck, that you can't progress, will happen. But if you really try to enjoy
your process, if you keep on studying, dancing, having fun,
the chances are that you will pass through this situation much faster and that you
have a good time all the time. The results you are looking for will come due to
the quality of the time and passion you put into what you do.

Hi folks, I don't know if you can see, but it started to rain in here, and we have
no umbrella. But you know what? It's been a long time since our last walk in the rain!

la contra se le dá ♫♫
