JACOB SOBOROFF: Hey, Jacob here.
Today we've got Macklemore and Ryan
Lewis hijacking a bus in the Bronx.
[MUSIC - MACKLEMORE AND RYAN LEWIS]
JACOB: The catpocalypse is upon us.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
JACOB SOBOROFF: And a world champion stares down death
without blinking an eye.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
JACOB SOBOROFF: This is YouTube Nation.
[THEME SONG PLAYING]
JACOB SOBOROFF: You're heading to work on the bus,
minding your own business, when two dudes get on,
and they break out a boombox.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
MACKLEMORE: All right.
How you guys doing today?
JACOB SOBOROFF: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
threw this impromptu concert for passengers in the Bronx,
and the video is getting shared like crazy.
There is a ton to say about Macklemore,
but nothing will say it better than just getting back
on the bus.
[MUSIC - MACKLEMORE AND RYAN LEWIS]
JACOB SOBOROFF: The video's a promo for the Grammys, which
are next weekend, and these two guys
are going to be performing.
They're nominated for seven awards.
CARLY: I haven't played a video game since "Luigi's Mansion."
One, I had a traumatic experience with Bowser.
But this new trailer for "Broken Age" might just bring me back.
VELLA: I know that if I act on my instinct to fight,
I would be putting my whole village in danger.
So I'll ask a new question.
Instead of, what if we fought the monster, what
I want to know is, how do I kill it?
CARLY: It comes out at the end of the month
and was entirely funded through Kickstarter.
I love how beautiful the animation is.
It really feels like you're embarking on a journey.
Plus there's no Bowser in this one.
JACOB SOBOROFF: Your entire world
can change in the blink of an eye.
This was especially true for world champion
downhill skier, Aksul Lund Svindal,
when he took a spill at Beaver Creek in 2007
and was hospitalized for the rest of the season.
But that didn't stop him.
He came back the next season, and he
conquered the exact same slope.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
JACOB SOBOROFF: He's won seven major titles
since this accident, and he's competing in four events
next month at the Olympics.
Watching this makes me feel like I'm bombing down
the mountain at 80 miles an hour.
ALEX: I'm not the biggest fan of proposal videos,
but I think I'm going to make an exception for this one.
This video is a stage production of "Peter Pan" in Glasgow,
where Peter Pan proposes to Wendy.
MALE SPEAKER: You are the person that I
want to spend my life with, and therefore, I
want to ask you, Jane Mary Sullivan, will you marry me?
ALEX: It came out on Tuesday, and it's already
had over a million views.
Everyone just seemed to really love this proposal.
But I agree with commenter, kiyosk,
when he said, I thing the dog is the most excited one here.
JACOB SOBOROFF: The newest video from sex ed guru, lacigreen,
is starting a pretty massive conversation,
almost 5,000 comments in one day.
LACIGREEN: Often objectification is
confused with thinking that a woman's hot.
But objectification is not the same
as being *** or being sexually attracted
to the someone.
That's a natural part of life, right?
But what's not natural is constantly portraying women
as sex objects for male pleasure.
JACOB SOBOROFF: She's got the top sex ed channel,
and over the last five years, she's
gained a following of almost 700,000 subs.
Laci's no stranger to controversy.
She had to take a hiatus back in 2012,
after receiving death threats.
But she's got a pretty thick skin.
She's not afraid to get into the nitty-gritty,
and she is great at exploring the emotional side of sex.
LACIGREEN: But I think it's high time that people start
to acknowledge that *** attraction doesn't have
to destroy or negate a friendship.
We're able to sort of cope with and interact
with our own *** desires in more dynamic ways
than people like to think we do.
JACOB SOBOROFF: To learn more about Laci,
or really any sex question that you've ever
had in your entire life, we got a playlist waiting for you
at the end of the show.
Be warned.
It is not exactly safe for work or school.
MALE SPEAKER: Stumpearnest.
JACOB SOBOROFF: OK, Earnest, today's challenger
is Lindsay C. Earnest, my cat just had nine babies.
Find me a video as horrifying as the inside of my apartment.
EARNEST: Lindsay, I have found you the mother of all cat
videos, the cat's cradle of life, if you will.
Welcome to Kitty City.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
EARNEST: Cyriak is a UK animator who's
had his fair share of trippy, viral hits.
This piece of modern art has over 5 million views.
Boom.
JACOB SOBOROFF: Earnest is the head curator here,
and he thinks he can find a video for any situation
that you dream up.
But if you think that you can stump him,
drop your challenge with the hashtag #STUMPEARNEST.
It is officially the weekend.
