Behind me you see the town hall Rot House. It was built by the city of Vienna in the
late19th century. It was supposed to be a counterpoint to the work here where the Hofburgs
lived. It was at that time the highest building in Vienna. It wasn't supposed to be. They
only had permission to built it up to as high as the church behind it but then they put
the statue on top of it of what is called the town hall man. It is like a knight person
and they were able to be the tallest in Vienna to prove that they were just as powerful as
the emperor. As you see it is beautiful lit up at night. Here it is a beautiful place
to walk. All the buildings are lit up. You can see the power of the Hofburgs and how
they lived as you walk through the Hofburg here. It is a beautiful place to take a stroll
and take in the night air in Vienna.
