Only a seven minute train minute from Birmingham city centre, the University of Birmingham
is an ideal location for students. The second city of the UK is right on your doorstep and
there is so much for students to see and do. The Bullring is one of the most iconic places
in the city centre. Birmingham loves to shop and this place behind me attracts thousands
of people every day. From designer boutiques to music and film stores, the Bullring is
always thriving with activity. With so many shops to choose from, you’re pretty much
guaranteed to find what you want here. The Bullring also has a great selection of restaurants,
from pizzerias to sushi bars, which all offer great deals for students.
This is Victoria Square, the perfect place to meet friends after a day in the city. Here
you can either relax by the fountains or catch a drink in one of the local cafes. Victoria
Square also hosts a number of amazing markets throughout the year. One of the most famous
is the German Christmas market which is especially popular with university students. The entire
square is decked out with Christmas stalls and decorations.
Along the canal there are loads of cool bars and restaurants that all put on special nights
for students.
I hope you’ve enjoyed some of the highlights of the city. I know it’s a bit grey today
but we also get plenty of sun.
