So we live in a world that's we're, where we're incredibly wired. The thought of not
being connected to the internet is nearly an impossibility right? We need the internet
to go to school, we need the internet to work, we need the internet to connect to our friends.
So, approaching an internet addiction is like approaching other behavioral addictions. We
know that we can't completely stop the use but we can figure out healthier ways to use
it in our lives. The first way we can do this is to become more conscious about our use.
We can keep a diary of the amount of time that we're spending online. The second thing
that we can do if we're finding, if we feel that we're spending too much time online is
we can put some boundaries around the amount of time that we're spending, we can set some
limits around our use, we can come to some agreements about the amount of time that we're
spending and maybe that we spend one hour in the morning, one hour in the afternoon
and then one hour in the evening. So there's a way that we can limit our use so that it
is no longer having a negative impact in our life but it's adding to the value and the
richness of our life.
