I'm Rick Tobey on behalf of Expert Village and this is Blues Progressions Part 2. Now
this is another blues song in the key of A and it's similar to what we were doing except
it's got a slightly different rhythm. And in this song, we're actually going to play
another kind of a riff instead of chords. The song is called "Tell Me Mama," and the
riff goes like this.
And then you would just simply go to the D movable chord. And you can hit the bass line
with your third finger like that and then go back to that riff I just played on A. Then
play a new chord. Now for a D chord. The
way we play that riff is use your index finger on the fifth fret of the E string and then
you'll just have to watch this closely. I'm going, first finger to the third finger, but
this is like a hammer kind of thing. And then I'm taking the third finger and I'm hitting
these two strings together. The D and the G string together on the seventh fret with
the third finger. And then I'm playing the same two strings together using the index
finger on the fifth fret. So very slowly it goes like this.
