YouTubers to see if you know their channels.
- Uh-oh. (laughs) I'm in trouble!
- This is gonna go terrible.
- I don't watch YouTube a lot. I'm sorry.
- I think I might have a good chance 'cause of my kids.

- (Finebros) Do you know this YouTuber?
- No, but I like his swag.
- He looks like he's probably in an Asian boy band.
- He looks like a good, clean cut kid.
- Is he the one that does those magic tricks?
- I know my kids. They like him.
- (raps table) I know him.
He talks about... really lazy Halloween costumes.
- It's not Ryan... is it? Higa?
- (Finebros) So that is Ryan Higa, also known as Nigahiga.
He makes comedy sketches and is currently one of the top five
most subscribed channels in the world. - Wow.
On one of those?
- I was okay. I'm on the right track.
- I guess he must be funny.
- He's somebody I should definitely look up.
I bet I would love what he does.

- (Finebros) How about this guy? Do you know him?
- No.
- Wow, look at the hair. (laughs)
- He looks intelligent! (giggles)
- Is he the "pie" one? No-- no, it's not, right?
- I think I've seen him on a billboard recently.
- Don't know his name.
It's the one that my daughter loves.
- He has a new book out and it's called Binge.
Taylor... is that even right?
- Tyler Oakley.
- Tyler Oakley. Love him.
My daughter, she showed me his videos and he's such a sweetheart.
- (Finebros) This is Tyler Oakley. - Tyler Oakley.
His name, I've heard.
- This is Tyler Oakley.
Oh, my kids also watch him.
- He seems like an awesome dude.
It's one of those guys that you want to meet.
- (Finebros) Tyler is a well-known vlogger
who is a strong advocate in the LGBTQ community
and is gay himself. - Okay.
- (Finebros) He has raised over a million dollars in the past two years
for The Trevor Project, an organization that provides
crisis intervention for LGBTQ youth. - Wow, what a guy, man.
He's using social media for a really good cause.
- I think that's really good because he has the courage to help others.
- Any time you can use any of your influence
to raise money to donate, I think,
that not only is it going to a good cause,
but, you know, you're filling up your karma bank.
♪ (quirky interlude) ♪
- (Finebros) Okay, onto the next. Do you know who this YouTuber is?
- Uh, no.
- I don't know this one.
But it says "My Everyday Makeup Routine,"
so I don't think I would be big on watching this.
- My daughter watches this one too.
I know she has her own makeup line.
- I know her face, but I don't know her name.
- Zoe something? Zoella?
- (Finebros) Her name is Zoella. - Zoella? Never heard of her.
- I think she's friends with Tyler.
And I've seen her on his videos.
- (Finebros) She gives tips on style, beauty, and makeup.
Tutorials like hers are some of the most popular content on YouTube.
- Oh, wow. I'm gonna go watch her.
- I would worry, eventually, for my daughter
if she was too stuck on these and trying to look
like everybody in these videos and worrying that she's not.
- In the beginning, when us girls first start putting on makeup
or doing fashion, sometimes we look crazy.
So I think this would help out.
It would've helped out for my age.
- My daughter watches all of these channels and, honestly,
my daughter looks fabulous.
If I taught her how to put on makeup, she would look like a crazy drag queen.
♪ (quirky interlude) ♪
- (Finebros) Do you know this YouTuber?
- I don't. He looks really familiar.
- No, but he looks like a kid that was on Jersey Shore.
- He does those prank videos that I watch.
- Yes! Yes! Yes! I know him. He's an Arab.
I actually use his YouTubes to teach my students Arabic.
- He was on the Streamy Awards.
When he accepted his award, he talked about how
he's been battling bipolar and depression.
- (Finebros) His channel's called fouseyTUBE.
- Oh, yeah, yeah.
- Yes! I know him. And his name is Yousef.
- And what does fouseyTUBE do?
- (Finebros) FouseyTUBE is one of the fastest growing channels right now,
primarily featuring prank videos.
Some of his pranks are considered social experiments
and have been shown in college classes. - Wow.
- He's up in college curriculum now?
- If you had said when, back in the beginning of YouTube,
that someone was using it I would have been shocked,
but I've used it in my classroom and it's great.
It's a good conversation starter and it gets you to think.
♪ (quirky interlude) ♪
- (Finebros) Okay, so do you know these people?
- These are YouTubers?
- Looks like a great family.
- That's a lot of kids. I give it to 'em.
- They look like a family we'd want to hang out with,
and I want to babysit that little baby right there.
- That is the, um, Christian family...
I'm not sure if they're Mormon or Christian.
- It's the Shaytards. It's Shay Carl.
- (Finebros) They call themselves the Shaytards.
- (laughing) Shaytards?
- Shaytards, yeah.
- They're one of the first channels I ever watched.
What attracted me to it was the idea of his family
and he was super funny.
- (Finebros) So the Shaytards are a family
that have been posting daily vlogs, documenting their lives since 2009.
- Oh, wow.
- (Finebros) And their videos have over one billion views so far.
- What?! A billion?
- More power to them.
You know, they get to be with their kids every day.
That's awesome.
- These videos on YouTube is good.
A lot of people doesn't know how much work is in a family.
They think once you get married it's so simple,
and it has its up and downs.
♪ (quirky interlude) ♪
- (Finebros) Do you know this YouTube star?
- (chuckling) I don't, man.
I don't know anybody. What is wrong with me?
- It looks like straight nerd central.
- He looks crazy. Does he also do pranks?
- Is he, like, a sciency dude? I have no idea.
I'm only basing that on glasses. That's terrible.
- I've seen him on YouTubers React. He's a super smart dude.
- (Finebros) This is a channel called Vsauce.
- Oh, Vsauce. I've heard of Vsauce.
- I've not heard of Vsauce.
- The name Vsauce sounds familiar.
- (Finebros) Vsauce is an education based channel
that discusses science and philosophy, and has nearly 10 million subscribers.
- 10 million?
- That's one I would start watching.
- My daughter's back-to-school night, and the teacher,
her science teacher actually uses YouTube.
I'm like, "Oh my god. This is going to a different dimension
that we haven't had before."
♪ (quirky interlude) ♪
- (Finebros) How about this online star? Do you know her?
- No, I don't.
- She looks like a happy violin playin' chick.
- I listen to her. I didn't know she had a channel.
- Lindsey Stirling. She's amazing.
- Linda Stirling.
(excited) Yeah? Is that right?
- (Finebros) Close. This is LINDSEY Stirling.
- Oh, Lindsey Stirling. My son loves her.
That was his first concert.
- She is amazing. I love her music.
- (Finebros) She's known for her fusion of classical violin music
with more modern genres, and she sells out shows
around the world. - Wow.
- She does shows, she tours all over the world?
She's a YouTube channel person?
- Many comedians and rappers or dancers were found on YouTube
and that's how their career blew up.
♪ (quirky interlude) ♪
- (Finebros) Okay, so do you know these guys?
- I do not know them.
- Food fighters? They cook?
- That's bacon? Ooh, no.
- Based on what I'm looking at, they should be called
Heart Attack Waiting to Happen.
- They're the Epic Meal Guys, right?
- It's Epic Meal Time.
- That's Epic Meal Time.
- It's the Epic Meal Time guys. Bacon, bacon, bacon.
- (Finebros) They are called Epic Meal Time.
- Epic Meal Time. Okay, that one, I think I've heard of.
- One of my son's favorites.
I have to admit, one of mine too.
- (Finebros) Epic Meal Time is one of the most popular
cooking shows on YouTube, and even got a TV show
called Epic Meal Empire. - Amazing.
So now they're on the tube?
See, that means they're doing something right.
- Television is kind of learning that we need to meet
the people where they are.
I mean, I don't think my kids even use
their televisions in their room anymore,
except as maybe a monitor for their computer.
♪ (quirky interlude) ♪
- (Finebros) And finally, do you know this YouTuber?
- Wow... I do not know who the hell that is.
- I don't recognize him at all.
- Is he a singer?
- DJ, probably?
- I forget the guy's name... argh! It's right there!
- Yes! No, I don't like this kid.
- Oh, it's PewDiePie.
- Is he the "pie" one? The PewDie-- is he?!
- (Finebros) This is PewDiePie. - PewDiePie!
- My kids love PewDiePie.
- I told you, there is a pie in his name. (laughs)
PewDiePie. He's the number one subscribed.
Okay. Now, see? That one I know.
- (Finebros) PewDiePie is a Swedish YouTuber
who's the most subscribed creator in the world.
He has over 40 million subscribers. - (laughter)
- Are you serious?
- That's nuts.
- (Finebros) And ten billion views,
mostly of him playing video games. - Holy [bleep].
(laughs) This guy is amazing, dude.
- Are you serious?
- I just have to say-- and I know this sounds so stupid--
but I just don't get it.
- They're putting in the work, and if they're putting in the work
and willing to share of themselves and that kind of thing,
and people are willing to watch, go for it, man.
- I remember when I was a teenager, I used to like video games.
But just thinking about somebody becoming famous
for playing videos-- that's crazy.
Now you got me intrigued, that I should subscribe him...
and find out more about it.
And I recommend to all the parents, subscribe.
