So now that we've learned how to do the tornado kick let's take a look at some other variations.
You can always adjust the speed, the height of your kick, and you can always also do it
from the opposite side. What some people like to do is a double legged one where they do
the same run but they bring the legs together and jump off of both legs. That's another
variation that people like to do. Also for the same kick, if you want to do right leg
landing still with a single leg, some people can choose to jump up with both legs at the
same time which they feel is either more comfortable or gets them more height. So again, you can
jump off of both legs or you can jump off of one leg, but the key thing to remember
is all the other applications and techniques are still the same where your body is straight
and you're in line and you still need to bring your legs up fast and bring them down fast.
Now again, there's other variations in terms of degrees. You can do 360 degree rotation
or a 540 degree rotation and like I showed earlier, you can do one like this, which is
540 degrees. Note that the body spins one extra half rotation. So that extra spin is a 540 of an extra rotation.
People can also do 720 or even 1080. Now there's also different variations in how you choose
to land. Typically if you just want to use it for fighting application or martial arts
application, you just want to get the kick across and land. Also, if you want to do it
more aesthetically, you can choose to land in a horse stance, or you can also choose
to land in the splits like so. So there's definitely different ways that you can choose
to variate this move, and now that you've learned how to do the tornado kick, you can
have fun with different variations.
