Hey there….
I just want to talk to you for a couple of minutes about our upcoming session with Susan
Christy.
I had the opportunity to see Susan in the summertime, when she was here to present Working
effectively with faculty and physicians and it was really an awesome session.
She does a really good job, not just of having you understand the complexities of faculty/physician/staff
relationships, but leaves you with some practical tips that you can take back to your office
and apply as soon as you get to work.
It was very interactive. She worked with people. Had very heartfelt conversations with all
of the individuals there about about some of the issues they experience when dealing
with faculty and physicians.
She gives you a really good look into the mindset of what it is like to be faculty or
a physician here at the University of Michigan and it gives you a sense to understand what
pressures are on them and because of that it allows you to develop really good strategies
for how you deal with them on their terms.
You are not going to walk out of the session knowing that you are going to change faculty
or change the way physicians work, but what you are going to to is walk out with really
good practical tips and tools that will make your job be easier, they will make your relationship
with your faculty or physicians even better.
The other thing is that you walk away with her book, which is a pretty awesome book.
Honestly, I watched her present this session twice in the summertime and I was blown away
both times. It was a really great session. We had incredible feedback.
Unfortunately, this is the last time we are going to have Susan here, so you do have this
one last opportunity to see her and I would really, really recommend it as it is an excellent
session.
Thanks….
and I hope to see you there.
