>> Dale Beumont: And you mentioned that facebook has made a number of changes recently just
at last couple of months, can you tell us what some of the ones who's taking the tabs
and putting in to the menu box. What was similar..
>> Leigh Kostiainen: They change everything.
>> And the changes were made and how does it effect us.
>> Leigh Kostiainen: Ok the changes actually were for the better, it's a lot more stream
line, and it's simple to use and less clunky looking, and a little bit more uptodate. Some
of the features in terms of branding that they're editing, there's a little images at
the top of the page and this is something that a lot of people don't think to use for
your branding, it's a great tool. The images change every time you load your page but what
you can do with those images is to create each little image, the same size, same color,
and have a little call to action on each one the contently into a side of menu. And what
happen is if somebody click on that particular picture, it pops up, you know how screen goes
black and you can see a photo that someone's up, so the little picture pops up that underneath
is description box and in that description box you can put a call into action and that
call to action can be how you can actually buy for something, which is what we do on
promote my fan page. So we have a dollar directory and so anyone who wants to participate in
the dollar directory clicks on that button, which is click here. And so I can tell them
exactly what they have to go about buying their dollar directory listing and that the
sticks away for us in the background all the time. So using those little images at the
top which is for those who understand pixels, it's 110 pixels by 75, so you have the images...
>> Dale Beaumont: so how do you make your picts there so when you put your photos up
there don't just automatically disappear.
>> Leigh Kostiainen: Ok those 5 pictures are most 5 recently uploaded images or 5 most
recently tagged images. So basically if you just upload those 5, there will be the 5 at
the top there, when you upload new pictures after that. They will get replaced by those
pictures. You just mouse over that new image to a little cross of piece on that image,
click that and will hide that particular picture and bring back the original one that you created,
the one specially made to be in that place. It doesn't delete your photos, it just hide
from that top row.
>> Dale Beaumont: Yup fantastic, so other changes that effect them.
>> Leigh Kostiainen: Other changes mostly to the admin area so there's a lot more field
now as I mentioned early on as you to add more information about your business from
the branding point of view with the changes to iFrames. Now mean this is actually really
important for anyone getting customization done. You would have heard all the changes
recently to changing it to iFrame and away from HTML and sort of the things. What that
means is that an iFrame is facebook page you createon, or things on the website. And then
you get pulled into facebook using code. The only problem that exist at the moment is facebook
now changing all of your profiles to search facebook using a secured.. how you put this
one? So they browse securely. If that make sense. So you can't get viruses and you don't
get hacked and things like that. The only problem is that the iFrame dont' show if you're
browsing securely so because they're changing all of that profiles automatically for us.
More, more people who has that iFrame or externally created pages need a purchase what is known
as an SSL certificate for their website or their domain. And what that does is that the
people viewing that page is that this is a secure site and therefore we will display
your image. If you don't have one of those on your website it will not display your iFrame
in your facebook page. So if you're doing on your own, make sure you do understand that
you need to have an SSL certificate. If you're using a professional site.
>> Dale Beaumont: Is it for personal one or business one have an SSL.
>> Leigh Kostiainen: This is on your domain.
>> Dale Beaumont: On your domain alright.
>> Leigh Kostiainen: On your Website domain.. so you need to godaddy or someone like that
purchase your SSL for your Domain and then when your iFrame is pulled into your facebook
page it will read that this secure certificate is actually available and that your content
is safe to display.
