FOR REAL.
DAVE CROME FOR "INSIDE SPORTS."
DESMOND, BACK TO YOU.
>> THANK YOU, DAVE TALKING
ABOUT THE FIRST COWBOY'S GAME
PLAYED IN A THAT $1.2 BILLION
DREAM OF A STADIUM IS KEN
HAMLIN.
APPRECIATE YOU TAKING TIME,
KEN.
>> NO PROBLEM.
>> WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE
STADIUM?
>> IT'S AMAZING.
I THINK IT'S DEFINITELY BIGGER
THAN WHAT WAS EXPECTED.
THE HYPE WAS DEFINITELY BIG.
IT WAS EXCITING TO GET OUT
THERE AND GETTING OUR FEET WET
A LITTLE BIT.
>> WITH THAT MUCH HEIGHT AND
THAT MUCH ATTENTION GOING INTO
THIS PARTICULAR GAME, DID IT
FEEL LIKE A PRESEASON GAME?
>> WELL, IT STILL DID.
I THINK WE STILL WANTED TO GO
OUT THERE AND WORK ON SOME
THINGS AND GET SOME THINGS
ACCOMPLISHED, BUT AT THE SAME
TIME WE HAD THE VISITING TEAM
AND YOU COULD TELL IT WAS AN
EXCITING EXPERIENCE.
THEY KNEW IT WAS SOMETHING BIG.
>> Reporter: DO YOU FEEL ANY
ADDED PRESSURE IN BEING IN THE
NFL'S LARGEST STADIUM?
JERRY HAS PUT A LOT OF MONEY
AND TIME INTO IT.
DO YOU FEEL ANY ADDED PRESSURE
TO LIVE UP TO THIS MAGNIFICENT
STADIUM?
>> WELL, JERRY'S POCKETS ARE
PRETTY DEEP, SO WE KNOW HE CAN
AFFORD IT.
I PUT MORE PRESSURE ON MYSELF
THAN A STADIUM OR ANYONE ELSE
CAN PUT ON ME.
WE HAVE PRESSURE TO GO OUT AND
PERFORM, AWAY OR HOME.
THIS DEFINITELY GIVES US A BIG
ADVANTAGE AT HOME WITH THE TYPE
OF FANS THAT WE CAN PUT IN
THERE, THE CROWD NOISE, YOU
KNOW?
IT WAS DEFINITELY BIG.
75,000 THERE, WE CAN GO AHEAD
AND STACK 100,000 IN ONE GAME.
I THINK WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A
LOT OF FALSE STARTS WITH
VISITING TEAMS WITH OUR DEFENSE
GETTING THE CROWD OUT.
>> DEFENSIVELY, LET'S TALK
ABOUT YOUR GUYS' PERFORMANCE.
I THOUGHT YOU LOOKED BETTER AND
MORE CRISP.
YOUR THOUGHTS ON DEFENSIVELY
THE IMPROVEMENTS THAT YOU MADE
FROM THE FIRST GAME TO THE
SECOND GAME?
I MEAN, YOU GUYS HELD WHITE AND
THOSE GUYS TO THE SEVEN-YARD
RUSH.
I DON'T THINK YOU GIVE UP A 1ST
DOWN UNTIL LATE IN THE SECOND
QUARTER.
YOUR THINK THES.
>> I THINK WE CAME OUT WITH A
FOCUS, YOU KNOW?
OUR FIRST DEFENSE PLAYED A
LITTLE BIT MORE, BUT EVEN WHEN
THE RESERVE GUYS GOT IN, I TOLD
THEM DON'T THINK.
GO OUT AND PLAY LIKE YOU PLAYED
IN COLLEGE.
GO OUT AND PLAY.
THERE WERE A LOT OF THINGS
GOING ON IN THE FIRST GAME.
SO THEY DIDN'T WANT TO MAKE
MISTAKES, WHICH NORMALLY THAT
IS WHEN IT OCCURS.
FOR THEM TO GET OUT THERE AND
FLY AROUND AND HAVE FUN, IT
SHOWED.
THEY HAVE FUN OUT THERE.
THE OTHER NIGHT, HOPEFULLY WE
KEEP THAT GOING.
>> Reporter: NO DOUBT AND YOU
GUYS ARE JUST BEGINNING.
YOU START PRACTICE AT VALLEY
RANCH TOMORROW AFTER SPENDING
THREE AND A HALF WEEKS IN SAN
ANTONIO FOR TRAINING CAMP.
ARE YOU HAPPY TO BE BACK.
>> DEFINITELY.
I THINK SAN ANTONIO WAS GOOD TO
US.
THE FANS OUT THERE WERE
DEFINITELY GREAT TO US, BUT I
THINK IT'S GOOD TO BE HOME.
IT'S GOOD TO ACTUALLY BE ABLE
TO SLEEP IN YOUR BED AND DRIVE
TO WORK AND COME BACK TO YOUR
BED.
SO WE'RE TAKING THE STEPS TO BE
A BETTER TEAM.
>> Reporter: FROM THE MEDIA
SIDE, THERE WAS NOTHING SOFT
ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR TRAINING
CAMP.
WE DIDN'T GET A DAY OFF.
I WORKED 25 DAYS IN A ROW.
NOTHING SOFT ABOUT THIS
PARTICULAR CAMP.
YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS CAMP AND
HOW IT'S DIFFERENT FROM SOME OF
THE CAMPS THAT THE CRITICS
CALLED "CAMP CUPCAKE."
>> HOPEFULLY THE MEDIA IS
SATISFIED.
I WOULDN'T THINK ANY OF OUR
CAMPS WERE SOFT OR LIGHT OR
ANYTHING LIKE THAT, BECAUSE THE
COACHES DEMAND A LOT OUT OF US.
AS PLAYERS, WE DEMAND IT OUT OF
OUR OURSELVES AND I THINK WE
WENT ABOUT IT THE SAME WAY.
WE HAD A FOCUS IN THIS CAMP.
WE WENT OUT TO HANDLE BUSINESS
AND COME BACK TO MAKE HOME A
LITTLE BIT BETTER THAN WHEN WE
WENT IN THERE.
SO THEY CAN TAKE IT HOWEVER
THEY WANT IT, BUT YOU KNOW,
WE'RE TRYING TO GET BETTER AS A
TEAM.
>> Reporter: LET'S LOOK FORWARD
TO THE SEASON A LITTLE BIT AND
TALK ABOUT THE DEFENSIVE
SECONDARY.
YOUR SUCCESS, A LARGE PART OF
IT DEPENDS ON YOU BEING IN
UNISON WITH THE REST OF THE
MEMBERS IN THE SECONDARY.
IT'S HARD TO DO WHETHER THERE
WERE A LOT OF INJURIES, AS LAST
SEASON.
IT WAS LIKE A REVOLVING DOOR AS
FAR AS THE INJURIES.
HOW DO YOU FEEL BY YOUR
DEFENSIVE SECONDARY THIS YEAR?
WE HAVE SEEN A COUPLE OF NICKS
AND BRUISES, BUT HOW CONFIDENT
ARE YOU GOING INTO THE SEASON?
>> WE'RE DEFINITELY CONFIDENT.
WE HAVE A LOT OF YOUNG GUYS
WITH THE SPEED AND EXPERIENCE,
NOT JUST PLAYING WITH THIS
TEAM, BUT EXPERIENCE PLAYING
THE POSITION.
HEALTH IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE AN
ISSUE.
GUYS STAYING HEALTHY, BUT
SOMETHING THAT I'M NEVER GOING
TO MAKE EXCUSES ON.
REGARDLESS OF WHO IS PLAYING
WITH ME, WE HAVE IT GO OUT AND
PERFORM.
THAT IS WHAT I SAID LAST YEAR
AND I'M GOING TO SAY IT THIS
YEAR AS WELL.
HOPEFULLY WE CAN ALL STAY
HEALTHY, BUT THINGS HAPPEN.
INJURIES HAPPEN AND WE'RE GOING
TO STICK AROUND AND TRY TO
PERFORM AND PUT POINTS ON THE
BOARD, DEFENSIVELY AND
OFFENSIVELY SO THEY CAN PUT
POINTS UP AS WELL.
>> Reporter: AWESOME.
YOU HAVE BEEN BUSY ON THE
FOOTBALL FIELD, BUT YOU ARE
GETTING IT DONE AWAY FROM THE
FOOTBALL FIELD.
JUST YESTERDAY YOU DID YOUR
PART TO HELP HUNDREDS OF KIDS
AROUND DALLAS TO GET READY FOR
THE SCHOOL YEAR.
YOU PARTNERED UP WITH THE YMCA
OF DALLAS.
TELL US ABOUT WHAT YOU DID
YESTERDAY.
IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL THING.
>> I THINK FOR ME TO BE ABLE
TO GIVE BACK AND HELP SOME OF
THE KIDS AND PARENTS OUT,
GETTING THE KIDS READY FOR
SCHOOL, GIVING OUT BOOK BAGS
AND HOPEFULLY THEY CAN GET
THEIR SCHOOL YEAR STARTED OFF
RIGHT.
TO SEE THEIR FACES AND GET THE
THANKS FROM THE PARENTS AND
JUST EVERYONE COMING TOGETHER
TO MAKE IT A SPECIAL EVENT.
IT WAS GREAT.
>> Reporter: HE IS BEING
MODEST.
YOU GUYS HAD A LOT MORE GOMING
ON THAN HANDING OUT BOOK BAGS.
HAIRCUTS AND DENTAL WORK FOR
THE KIDS.
YOU FED THE KIDS.
NO DOUBT A GREAT TIME.
>> I HAVE TO THANK YOU
EVERYONE WHO PUT IT TOGETHER.
RICK BROUGHT GUYS TOGETHER AND
MY WHOLE CREW PUT IT TOGETHER
AND DID A GREAT JOB, MAKING IT
EASY FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO GIVE
BACK AND HELP PEOPLE OUT.
>> Reporter: AWESOME, KEN WE'RE
GOING TO LOOK FORWARD TO YOU
DOING GREAT THINGS.
WE HAVE THE THIRD PRESEASON
GAME THIS COMING THURSDAY
AGAINST THE 49ERS.
THE DRESS REHEARSAL AND WELCOME
YOU WELL.
>> SEE HOW LOUD IT CAN GET.
>> Reporter: IT'S ONLY GETTING
BIGGER AND BETTER.
APPRECIATE YOU TAKING THE TIME,
KEN.
>> WE HAVE A LOT MORE TO TALK
